| one thing I'm curious about the STe - since they changed the video
hardware to support 4096 colors, does Spectrum 512 work on it?
(I remember hearing that Spectrum was very timing critical, curious
if having 4096 colors changes the timing).
Any news of a Spectrum 4096?

p.s. The Amiga market has finally started playing with interrupts
per scan line, NewTek released something called "dynamic hi-res"
which does 4096 colors in 640x200 overscan. Not much else happens
on the system when it's displaying the picture. And not much info
is available on how they did it (they sell a digitizer so I don't
imagine they are in a big hurry to tell other digitizer makers how
they did it). But reports on usenet make it sound like they too
are very timing critical on the display.

How can I tell (short of undoing screws?) how much memory I've got??.

705.5 | use ram-disk | PAULUS::HINTERLECH | | Tue Jan 02 1990 08:08 | 8 |
| Try to install a RAM-disk with a bigger size 600-700K without having
other bigger programms. If the disk is to be refused, you have a
520STE.
Happy new year,
Peter
