    I use Superboot to starup my system and it is an excellent
    utility that allows preconfigured utilities to boot up by
    assigning them to a Function key. (E.g. F1 loads some Accesories and
    then autostarts FLASH, F2 loads a different set of ACC and autostarts
    WordPerfect. All worked fine until TOS 1.4
    
    Of course 1.4 doesn't need Startgem BUT having each Function key
    start a program using the old Startgem doesn't seem possible because
    the built in StartGem only allows for 1 program to be autostarted and
    says the old stargem is incompatible with current version of TOS
    (1.4). Do I give up on this GREAT feature of Superboot 5.5?

	Yes, STARTGEM does not work with TOS 1.4 but it's successor DOES. So as long as SUPERBOOT works with TOS 1.4 then you are all set! All you have to do is get the successor to STARTGEM, which is called ...... wait a minute while I search my archives ..... well I can't seem to find it on the VAX and I don't recall it's name so I will have to look this up on the ST tonight and make it available tomorow. 	Me and my big mouth...Well I appologize as it seems I was mistaken in my previous reply. The program I was refering to is called HEADSTRT and in re-reading the .DOC file I found out that HEADSTRT did NOT work on beta versions of TOS 1.4 and had not been tested on ROM/EPROM version of TOS 1.4. Maybe you could convince the author (Charles Johnson @ CodeHead) to make it work with TOS 1.4.
