| I've never heard of Q-Edit, but there's no reason why SEDT would not
work with that configuration.

| SEDT is great. However, there's an accessory text editor called
DIARY_15.ACC. It's the successor to WORD400 aka NEWWORD.

| Thanx guys, my application is that I have some folks working on a
magazine with me who are considerable less computer literate than me.
SEDT has what I need which is nice functionality and the ability to set
the left column at 2. Pagestream's ascii importer jams together the
last and first words in a sentence. The only way I've found around that
is to set the left column at 2.
But SEDT is real big something like >100k. Is there a smaller version
of SEDT?
I had a really fast version of EDT for the ST a couple years ago. It
was adapted by some university and unsupported. I think that would be
sufficient if I can set the left column properly. Trouble is I deleted
it in favor of SEDT.

| Version 1.8 of PageStream (available for $10 upgrade from SoftLogik)
specifically fixes that problem with ASCII IMPORT. I wrote a
pre-processor program in BASIC which replaces CR with space-CR and then
imported into PageStream.

| Reply to .4, Buzz,
Thanx. I'll order that. I found that the ascii import module could
import ST Writer files. I had only to delete the Do Run Run codes out.
Maybe that will soleve my problem.

| Thanks to Mason Gilliam DIARY_15.ARC (a 30k desk accessory) is available in
OLDTMR::$1$DUA8:[WALLACE.PUBLIC.ST]DIARY_15.ARC.
Diary allows loading/saving files (via file selector) as well as just typing
on a blank sheet of paper (like a note pad). There are a few simple editing
features (move around with arrows, delete line, top/bottom of file, searching,
etc..) enough to make it usefull for simple editing tasks and as a decent file
browser.

| Today's "microemacs" is a 106KB file, and includes a complete extension
language and lots of fancy features. Once you load your macros into it,
it wouldn't make for a very friendly desk accessory.
See PRNSYS::RELEASED_TOOLS:[MICROEMACS]*.*, and conference VSG::MICROEMACS
I don't think "small" applies. It is, however, my editor of choice on
the Atari, for various reasons.
