    When running WordWriter ST on my 1040, I notice that sometimes there
    appear to be bands of dark lines running vertically across the screen. 
    To some degree, the speed and direction of these "traveling bands"
    appear to be controlled by moving the mouse slightly.
    
    Has anyone else experienced this nuisance? If so, any suggestions for
    a fix?

	Use an electronic contact cleaner on the monitor connector.
