[Another Tony Hart]
I am really interested the graphic capabilities of the ATARI ST
and I was wondering if any users would recommend some reasonably
priced graphic software packages.
I have a copy of DEGAS ELITE but I would like some opinions on other
packages preferably below 150.
I am particulary interested in animation.

I have used two graphics packages, both allow for animation.
The first is CYBER PAINT. This cost around 60. It is part of the CYBER
STUDIO set, although it can be used on its own. The animation
facilities are similar to the Quantel paintbox, with flips, twirls,
motion etc. For proffesional quality animation, I would recomend the
whole CYBER series. With some haggling, you could get the three main
packages for under 150; they are, CYBER STUDIO, CYBER CONTROL and
CYBER PAINT.
The other, is ART DIRECTOR / FILM DIRECTOR. You will need both. ART
DIRECTOR creates the basic images, FILM DIRECTOR animates them. FILM
DIRECTOR also has a simple tweening facility for geometric shapes, it
is quite effective. Each package costs around 40; but it is possible
to get them together for around 50, if you shop around.
