Just thought I'd let everyone know that I have received and installed
TOS 1.4 roms (I'm a licensed developer for what it's worth).
They do exist and work much better than the old ones and well worth the
upgrade price when you can get your hands on them.

I've heard that developers can buy more than one set. If any
developers feels like making a small profit, I'd like to buy your
second or third set. I don't want to wait 'til winter to get them

Yes, developers are allowed to purchase up to three sets of the new TOS
1.4 roms....so...
I called Atari to see if I could purchase and resell additional TOS 1.4
rom sets. My contact was very polite when she reminded me that we had
a non-disclosure agreement in place, (although she would never know).
They understand that there is a great amount of frustation by the users
out there but if I (and other developers) were to use our position to make
a profit then I suspect it could cause further delays getting them to
the dealers (and users).
Sorry, I tried to help but I'd rather keep things above board.

TOS 1.4 has finally been released for individual purchase per GENI
conference with Sam T. See NOTE 583 for pointer to conference
transcript.
