525.1 | Ultima fan from way back | CADSYS::DALTON | | Wed Jul 05 1989 11:38 | 10 |
| I have it and I'm going to start playing just a soon as I finish DM :^)
I have messed around with it some and it looks very good, I love the
Ultima series (solved I,II,and III) and this one looks like the best
so far, it's supposed to be very big, and the magic system is more
realistic.
Dunno, about Ultima V, I hope they release it for the ST... haven't
heard anything from Origin. Maybe someone should get there phone
number and inquire. I think they're in MA?

| Well I've been waiting for Ultima V for ages, but I've just given
up waiting and ordered Ultima IV instead.
My last call to the local computer shop, however, was more successful.
They expect to get it by the end of the month.

| It's a role-playing adventure game. Action takes place over an
extremely large playing area. You have a main mission (which when
achieved wins the game) but to achieve this, many sub-quests must
be solved first. Your party originally consists of just yourself,
but you meet people on your travels who you can invite to join
you. Graphics are looking down on the map apart from in dungeons
and during combat.

525.6 | Still no release date for Ultima V | RODNEY::PETERS | Don Peters, CTC2-1/F10, 287-3153 | Fri Jul 07 1989 09:42 | 7 |

I called Origin Systems yesterday to ask about the status of Ultima V for
the ST. They gave me the same answer they have been giving me for the past
year - "no release date". They must be having problems doing the conversion.

525.7 | Buy Ultima IV, it's great! | DDIF::BRAMHALL | Wescott Bramhall (age 12) | Sun Jul 23 1989 20:55 | 14 |
| Hello, I know someone has given you a brief summary about Ultima IV,
but stick with me.
I solved Ultima III, and then my dad bought Ultima IV. I've been
working on it with a friend and have completed a lot of it. It said on
the package "16 times larger than Ultima III". You and your party
search for pieces of the avatar. But first you must learn to use them.
You have to be Sacrificial, honest, honorable, compassionate,
valiant, humble, jnd spirituality. It . It gets kind of boring because
you can't die but it is a very good game.

525.8 | | CURRNT::BADMAN | You're ugly, but you intrigue me! | Thu Aug 03 1989 06:14 | 13 |
| I've got it now! I've several late nights playing it!
It is VERY good. The gameplay is good, the dungeons are ingenious
and character interaction really makes the game. There are lots
of hidden jokes in the game too. For example, I found a small boy
in a town and talked to him. He said he worked for Mr Jones. I asked
him about Mr Jones and he said "Indy's away on a quest!". I wonder
if I can get Indiana Jones to join my party; should make the game
a lot easier !!!!
