Hello,
These questions are addressed more specifically to German
Colleagues.
On friday the 30th June I will go to Austria for one week holiday
with my wife. We intend to step at half the way (by car) in
HEILDELBERG (known by my wife as a famous University city and by
me as a place where there are 'famous' (?) software house for ST).
First question is : Do you know place(s) where I can find shop
selling good and not too expensive video Graphics software (like
IMAGIC)? If yes could you insert also a short description of the
way to follow (from a easy to retrieve reference point) to reach
the store.
Second question is : I like to enhance video pictures (like with
IMAGIC) but this is only possible if you have a digitzed image;
thus I would like to find some hardware tools (GENLOCK ?) to let
me do that (preferably in 'real time') and that I could find in
Germany during my travel (and more precisely in Heildelberg where
I will arrive in the mid afternoon).
Third question is : would it not be possible to use some kind of
video recorders ,which have digitized freezed or paused
possibilities, to get the digitized output to the ST (even with
some 'midnight' hardware hooked up to this output) ?
Last question but which is not related to the ST :
Does some German natives know where ,in Heildelberg or
around, I can find a not too expensive hotel for one night ?
with my beST regards Vincent (Belgium)

addition to cultural info above : This city is also well known by
Artist (paints and photos). Sorry for the mistake in the name of the
city ; it is HEIDELBERG and not heiLdelberg.

IMAGIC is distributed (created ?) by Application Systems Heidelberg
Englerstrasse 3, Tel. 06221/300002. Why don't you give them a call
when you are in Germany. They have been very helpful concerning
variuos questions I had in the past and their support is very
professional. They should know where to get your hardware.
The only shop addresses I know in Heidelberg are:
- Heidelberger Computer Center
Bahnhofstrasse 1 <- follow signs to
6900 Heidelberg Main Railwaystation,
Tel. 06221/27132 #1 is at the other
end of the street passing
the station
- JACOM FAMILA-CENTER
Hertzstrasse 1 <- don't know where this
6900 Heidelberg is now, but before they
Tel. 06221/302437 moved to this place,
it was the better shop
of the two.
If you are looking for (cheap !) night accomodation, don't try in
Heidelberg. Rather look for something in the small villages around
Heidelberg, for example: Schriessheim, Dossenheim, Neuenheim, Leuters-
hausen, Edingen, Ladenburg. Sorry, I don't have the name of a specific
location - I was living in Heidelberg for about 6 years some 8 years ago
and therefore not very much interested in Hotel accomodation; but
I know from friends that it's much cheaper a bit outside.
have a nice trip,
Matthias
