I am new ATARI ST user ,I have copied WHACK.ARC on my DIGITAL directory,i have kermit on my mVAX and on my ST1024 and i can transfer text file between the two computers. How can i transfer WHACK.ARC with kermit (binary mode or normal mode......)?,and how can i get WHACK.PRG from WHACK.ARC (should i operate the separation on the VAX OR ON THE ATARI AND with wich tools). Thanks in advance Jrme

I suggest reading note 52 and all it's replies (which explains transfering files and de-arcing). Then if you still have questions ask away. It's best to de-arc ("setperate") .ARC files on the ST. ARC files are compressed (usualy about 10-50%) so it makes the download with Kermit much shorter. Arc (or VmsSweep) on the Vax is usefull to look at .ARC files to see if they are of interst to you before downloading. Ray |
