| I just talked to a knowledgable source who said Compuclub is now in
Chapter 11 proceedings (gone bankrupt). I'm not too sure of the details
of going Chapter 11, but its possible Compuclub could come back if the
bank approves a new reorganization plan.
So now we know the "illness" referred to is financial, not human.
If you are in the Boston area and need service work, Bob Fitzpatrik of
RF Microtech is still servicing STs (as he did for Compuclub at one time),
and is now working out of his home.
Looks like selling STs in the USA now is not a good way to get rich.

| Due to Atari holding back orders on ST machines that Thom could
no longer fill, not having other computers (IBM's, Amiga's etc.)
to sell during Atari's "shortage" of equipment, and just generally
fed up with the retail business as a whole, Thom decided to pack
it in.
Sorry, but he has no plans to return to it. One last hope is that
someone could buy what he has left, take over the store and continue,
but that doesn't seem likely now.
We lose.

| You might want to try The Bit Bucket, 1294 Washington, Newton. 964-3080.
From the West, exit the Mass Pike at the West Newton exit. Continue
on Washington St. about 1/2 mile until you reach a business district.
They're on your right-hand (Mass Pike) side.
From the East, exit the Mass Pike at Newton Corner (the old HoJo's),
continue along Washington St. about 1 mile.
From Rt. 128, I think you just exit on Rt. 16, which becomes Washington
St., but I'm not certain.
Martin.
ps: I haven't been there for a while, so I don't know if they still
sell Atari.

Bit Bucket still supports Atari...in fact, they are the best
place i've seen for software stock. They have always had everything
i've been looking for. Of course, you're paying more than mail order
prices, but some of their software is 10% off, you don't have
to wait to get it, and you get local support.
