    is there a GIF file viewer available for the ST?

    If so, what is it called and is it available on the ENET somewhere?

    thanks,

    Re: .0

    Yes there is a GIF viewer available, it is either GIFSHOW or SHOWGIF.
    If no-one else responds I will make it available.

    thanks, Dave

    now for a tougher one... Is the Mac Paint picture file viewer
    available?

    Background info: there are a lot of Mac pics and GIF pics that are
    starting to appear in the public domain ibmpc disk collections.
    At the local computer shows these 360K disks are selling for $1-$2.
    Some vendors are even selling them on 3.5" disks (costs a bit more).
    In particular the VGA GIF pictures are very nice. Some of those
    pc users have access to very good digitizing equipment. Seems like
    a good way to get more pictures for Spectrum 512. (max number of
    colors in GIF is 256)

    I have a friend with an ST who has been giving me Spectrum 512 pics,
    I'd like to give him GIF and MAC pics but without the file viewers,
    they aren't much fun. (I'm trying to find the time to write a
    Spectrum 512 file viewer for the Amiga, I have a GIF and a Mac viewer)

241.3LDP::SYS$UNSUPPORTED:GIFSHOW.ARC (note LDP has new address)21850::WEAVERLaboratory Data ProductsThu Sep 22 1988 22:366
    LDP::SYS$UNSUPPORTED:GIFSHOW.ARC has GIFSHOW.DOC, GIFSHOW.PRG,
    RADAR.GIF, SHOWGIF.PRG (no docs on SHOWGIF).

    They will stick around for about 1 week.

    						Enjoy, -Dave

    many thanks, I copied it over. GIFSHOW.DOC was interesting, the
    same folks are also working on an Amiga GIF viewer.

    any leads on a MacPaint viewer?

    I really would like to be able to display some GIF files. Is the
    GIFSHOW.ARC still on the net?

    Thanks in advance.
