156.0. "Looking for Atari stores" by AKOV11::KING (Extremists should be shot!) Wed Jul 06 1988 02:47

    I need to know where in Mass. I can find 520's for sale.

    My brother is college bound, and was looking for a good word processor.
    I have alot of PD software and suggested an ST, but he only has
    a limited budget to work with, so I thought a 520 with 2 drives
    would be a good choice (that's what I have). But I cannot find
    anywhere that I can buy one. Does anyone know of a store that
    sells 520?

    Thanx in advance for any help
    Bob K.

156.1Check out RF MicrotechTEA::PETERSDon Peters, CTS1-2/H6, 287-3742Wed Jul 06 1988 09:559
    Yes, I've been looking for a used ST (1040 w/color monitor) myself
    but haven't had too much luck. Saw one, but it was snapped up fast
    before I could make an offer.

    But, with regard to 520s, contact RF Microtech, in North Billerica,
    MA. The owner, Bob Fitzpatrick, was going out of business last week
    and had two 520s for sale - one color and one monochrome. I think
    one was $575 and the other was $585.

156.2CompuClub is still in businessPRNSYS::LOMICKAJJeff LomickaWed Jul 06 1988 11:3511
As mentioned in an earlier note, the WantAdvertiser seems to have a
bunch of ST's in it.

Also try CompuClub (617) 879-5232, in Framingham near where Rt. 9 hits
Rt 126. He may not have 520's in stock, but he is an Atari-only dealer,
and if you badger him about it, he'll have to come up with something.

(For example, "Hey, what do you mean that an Atari-only shop can't get
me the Atari computer that I want? Be serious! You have to get me
one. Your reputation depends on it.")

156.3Compuclub should have used 520sEUCLID::PAULHUSThu Jul 07 1988 12:164
    	re. last - Tom said he's taking in 520s in trade for 1040s
    and Megas. He should have used 520s (but NOT 1040s, usually)
    available. The WantAdvertiser prices will probably be lower, though.

156.4Here's two places to tryNACMIS::R_OLSONTue Jul 12 1988 11:485
    Have you checked with either the Bit Bucket in West Newton
    (617-443-9731, ask for Bill Blocher or Jeanne-Marie Peterson) or the
    Computer Works, Route 114 in Middleton - next to Daily's Pub - call
    617-777-8232. The latter sells Atari, Amiga, IBM clones, etc.
