    Does anybody know of a piece of P.D. software which would allow
    me to search for the occurrence of strings in a collection of files.
    The sort of thing I have in mind would be similar to the SEARCH
    command on the vax.

    Thanks
    	Keith.

| Iv'e seen source and executibles for various flavours of
    grep/egrep/fgrep which are unix's equivelent to search. I may have
    sources to one of these on the ST I'm not sure, if you are interested
    in sources I could look for you. If you just want an executible
    you can copy:
    	MILRAT::DISK$USER3:[WALLACE.PUBLIC.ST]UTILS.ARC
    			-and-
        MILRAT::DISK$USER3:[WALLACE.PUBLIC.ST]GREP.MAN
    These are files from the recently posted (to usenet) "ST unix toolkit".
    UTILS.ARC has, among other things, GREP.PRG.

    Grep will take multiple file names but I don't know if it will take
    a wild card for the file name.
