Customer has a question and I can not seem to find an answer. Customer has an infoserver 150 V3.2 with an Exabyte 8mm tape drive. Just recently it has required a second tape to be mounted. When doing a backup from a Vax system running V6.2 to the 8mm, the first tape is ejected, but never does he receive an opcom request to mount the second tape. If he inserts the second tape, it successfully completes the backup. If he runs the exact same backup command from a V5.5-2 system, it does generate a request to mount the second tape. Looked in the stars database and previous notes, could not see any reason why this might happen. Any suggestion? /Guy

2200.1 | It's a VMS thing... | WAYLAY::GORDON | Resident Lightning Designer | Fri Mar 07 1997 11:19 | 11 |
Pretty sure it's a known problem. Check to see if the latest version of CSCPAT_1128 fixes it. I have no idea what that version might be. The InfoServer client for VMS is maintained by VMS Sustaining Engineering these days. If you can't find a solution, open a problem call against VMS. --Doug By the way, unless the tape drive is a Digital branded TZK08 or TZK09, your customer has an unsupported configuration. | |||||

Thanks Doug, Cscpat_1128 does not apply to Vax V6.2, I will pursue from Vms. /Guy |
