...and most importantly, all of these places are not barred from the 
sea by higher terrain.  Death Valley, as mentioned earlier, is already
at 282 ft (86 m) below current sea level, but it's east of the mountains 
and other land that prevent the Pacific from flowing in now.
I suspect that it would remain dry, albeit at 152m below new sea level.
