hallo all ! Is the ASEA GCOM-DAS still available anywhere ? A customer of mine would be interested in it, so I would need some additional info, or DAS-description (if available after all) ! Thanks for any hints, -Tom.

1564.1 | DAS still exists - no Alpha support. | BASEX::EISENBRAUN | John Eisenbraun | Tue May 13 1997 12:03 | 19 |

I've still got the sources. (I assume this is the DAS that uses the Comm Tools package from ABB?) The DAS has not been updated since BASEstar Classic V3.2, but it will still work with BASEstar Classic V3.3 (but not V3.4). We lost our ABB controller a while back so there is no way for us to really support any problems found in the DAS (other than testing on the customer's machine or by code review). Also, I thought I heard somewhere that ABB had discontinued support for the their Comm Tools package. I seriously doubt whether it has been ported to Alpha, if that is a requirement. I know the DAS hasn't been ported. | |||||

There is a GCOM DAS using the GCOM for VMS package of tolls from ABB available for Alpha/VMS. Please contact me for more details. Renato Mendes |
