1556.0. "Interchange-DAS PLC-5/xxE" by VNACO1::KARASEK (Thomas KARASEK @AUI) Fri Jan 31 1997 09:14
Hi !
Did anyone ever setup an AB PLC-5/xxE for unsolicited write ?
Somehow we've troubles setting up the MSG-command.
All the documentation for the Interchange-DAS only covers PLCs connected to a
Data-Highway. However the MSG-command for type-E PLCs must be different.
Every attempt to send unsolicited data results in an error #18 (hex), which
translates to: connection was broken.
This makes me think, that the message doesn't even reach our target
BASEstar-node. (Both solicited READ & WRITE) work perfectly well).
How does the PLC know the host's IP-address, since there's no way to put into
that MSG-message. Is it the READ, which is implicitely posted be doing a
"DCM> MOD DEVICE/ENABLE/UNSOL" ?
Any hints/ideas strongly appreciated,
thanks & regards, -Tom
