| Didn't someone mention that the Brody shelter had 2 male littermates,
orange tabbies, double-pawed, that were up for adoption?

| Gee Nancy...what a good memory!! The two you are talking
about are not kittens...but gorgeous big boys. (maybe 2 or 3)
When we took these guys in...Priscilla promised the owner
(who was moving away...and felt terrible about leaving his
buddies) that she would try like heck to place these brothers
together. They are sweet and so loveable.
I did send a note to Beth off-line...telling her about the
shelter.

:-) Yes, well, I remember them because I have four cats, all
different, and have yet to add an orange to the bunch. But my
limit, for now, is four and so I have to really keep on the
straight and narrow. And double-pawed! That's what I thought
was so nice. Anyway, I hope Beth will take them. It's so nice
when older cats are placed as opposed to kittens. Especially when
they sit for months in a little cage when I know they could be on
someone's couch in front of the fire.... :-)
Let me know what happens.

| Nancy...just to let you know that only the new cats that come
to the shelter are initially caged and also the sick ones. All
other cats have access to four rooms and two outdoor areas...
so even if they don't have a fireplace...they do have room to
roam and truly enjoy sunning themselves outside!!

5058.5 | Wow, what a setup! | MODEL::CROSS | | Wed Nov 13 1991 13:48 | 5 |
| Wow! I didn't know that. Sandy, that's great. So everyone can
play together and have the freedom to move? I've never heard of
that sort of setup. What a wonderful place.

| I think it's great and enjoy seeing the kitties have room
to move...but again it does have some drawbacks. Colds can
get passed back and forth much easier, it's much harder hunting
down cats to medicate, and even though we would all like to
believe that 70 cats can get along...that is not always the
case. but we also use the cages as "time out period" when
someone is being a little too rough!!
I would have a real hard time seeing cats caged month after
month...so I do like this set-up better. The new shelter is
also set up this way!!

Sometime I will have to come up and see it. After hearing so much
about it and the good work and all, it only seems reasonable and
natural to make a visit....
of course, the hard thing will be to leave WITHOUT taking another
cat (or cats) home... an almost impossible thing for me!
