5052.0. "Zema "Zap Flea Trap"" by PHONE::SWANT (PPTPHT) Fri Nov 08 1991 19:27
Has anyone had any experience with the Zema "Zap Flea Trap"?
Does it work?
I just received a copy of "Master Animal Care" catalog, which
sells all kinds of products for animals. For fleas it carries the
ultrasonic flea collars, herbal flea bandana style collars, "Flea
Stop", "Mycodex", "Orange Power Shampoo", Vet-kem, etc.
What is most interesting is an EXPENSIVE, $24.99, flea trap. Here
is the blurb on it.
TRAP THOSE PESKY FLEAS. If your pet or his favorite spot
(or your favorite spot) is overwhelmed with fleas, try this
proven and effective method of flea control. Gently place
trap in area fleas are known to inhabit and expose the
repellent pad. Fleas will be lured toward the trap, and
stick instantly on the gummed surface. The Flea Trap will
take thousands of fleas out of circulation for good!
12" x 7".
#55092005 Trap $24.99
#55902006 Flea Trap Refills, 5/K. $9.59
I have only a few fleas (caught at the vets) on my Abyssinian,
Sheba, and her NEW LITTER of kittens. She and the kittens are
isolated in my bedroom. I have been using the flea comb and thumb-nail
method along with washing everything frequently.
I don't want to use any pesticide sprays, only vacuuming,
washing bedding, flea comb, Borax, and maybe this flea trap.

| You can get the same results by putting a piece of
flypaper under an outlet with a nightlight in it.
The light attracts the fleas, they jump, and get
stuck.
Also, a shallow dish of water works. They jump towards
the light, and fall in the wter and drown.
However, don't do this if the cats/kittens can get at
the flypaper or the water dish, or the nightlight!!! (-8
