5038.0. "Hope this will make everyone's day happier" by DNEAST::ESTES_CRYS (Feliners are special people) Wed Oct 30 1991 19:01

I am usually a read-only person but something happened this morning
that I just have to tell everyone. Well, here goes. Funny, but some may
think a little grossssss......... I have placed a form feed, so if you
don't want to read it, you don't have too. (Mods - if this unappropriate
    please let me know).

I have a new kitty and her name is BeeGee. She has gotten into
this habit of jumping on the toilet so I can get real close and give
her lots of attention. (This has gotten to be a morning ritual. Mommy
gets up, goes into the bathroom, then BeeGee comes in and jumps on the
toilet). One day I said to myself, "one of these times she is going to
jump on the toilet and fall in". Well, I finishing doing what I had to
do, flushed the toilet, and was closing the lid, when......... All of
the sudden BeeGee desides to jump on the top of the toilet. Then I
heard a SLASH, looked down and saw she had missed and fell in. It was
soooooo funny. This little face was looking at me saying what the h**l
did you do that for!!!!! As if it was my fault.... I did not put her
in there.....I think she was mad because I could not stop laughing. I
was laughing so hard, I woke-up my husband from a sound sleep. So, I
told him what had happened and he started laughing. At that point she
was mad at both of us. When I left home to come to work, she was still
mad. I hope she can forgive me tonight, I try to be a good mommy. ;^)
Has anyone else had this happen to them???????????

Crys (mom to "flush" BeeGee and lovable Miskey)

P.S. After it happened I gave her a bath (two in one day), which she
hated very much. But mom and dad felt she needed it. ;^)

Yes, I've had that happen too. They won't even give me that
"I meant to do that" look.

When I get up in the morning I,of course, head straight for the
toilet and have to remove Bob, then Sundance, then Tiffany, then
Mao from the top of it so I can use it! Some mornings I think I'm
never going to be able to go to the bathroom!

I think I have too many cats.

I have two kitties that love water and the toilet is one of
their favorite spots. When my little Poco was small she use
to try and drink out of it...and one time she lost her balance
and in she went head first. She gave me that same look as if
to say "gee why did you push me in...or gee I meant to do that".
I'm sure if she could talk...only four letter words would be
    coming out of her mouth!!!

Thanks for sharing the story...it brought back funny memories!!

Re. Nancy - I must remove 10 or 11 cats from the bathroom closet
every morning (it's where I keep the bag of dry food). As soon
as I pull one out, another goes in, so I've often had the same
thought you had. I remember a t-shirt I saw at a cat show once,
	though - "You can never have too many cats" :^}

	Sandy + only 6, really . . .

Crys ---> My cat has an affection for water. If she finds some, she'll jump in
and go for a swim (this includes bathtubs, toilets, sinks, and the dog's
water dish). The toilet is her favorite. I have to keep the lids
down and occasionally put some heavy object on them to keep Tasha out.
If I can't find Tasha anywhere in the house, I just flush a toilet and
	she comes running. Silly cat!

However, if I got to try and give her a bath, she suddenly sprouts about
24 legs and I can't even begin to get her in the water.

What is it with toilets !?? My siamese "Tasha" just waits for me in the
morning to go to the toilet, and then jumps on my lap!!! I guess she
just loves the attention of patting her, and is assured I will have to
pay attention to her while she is on my lap!! After all, I don't
disturb her when she's in her box !!!

Aren't they a riot! Anything with water!

Mittens used to come running into the bathroom and dive for his
"pedestal" (the toilet) to watch mom get ready for work. But I'll
never forget the time I let him run around the bathroom one night
when I took a bubble bath. Of course he had to get up on the sides
of the tub. Of course he had to walk the perimeter of the tub.
Of course, he fell in. I was afraid to grab him as his claws might
be going full speed to get out (which on tile would have been
useless) Instead, he just stood there looking at me, bubbles all
around his face and in his ears like "well, aren't you gonna help
me out?" You can't help but laugh at them!

The condo I used to live in had the upstairs bathroom directly
at the top of the stairs. My tabby Boogie used to *love* to
start in the basement, zoom up the stairs, around the corner
up the second set of stairs, zing across the bathroom floor,
grab the shower curtain and swing into the tub. Well, we were
going through a shower curtain a week with this act since she
would grab it with her claws. We tried the squirt bottle to
no avail. Then my ex-husband thought of an idea - fill the
tub. So we did, and we waited......

Zoom from the basement, around the corner, race up the second
set of stairs, slide across the bathroom floor, dig into
    the shower curtain, swing and.......

    SPLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oooohhhh what a face! She would talk to us for days!!! We
nearly died we laughed so hard!

    She never did it again!

re: .7 - I LOVE IT!!! Guess you had the last laugh.

Mao has a ritual when we shower. We have shower doors rather
than a curtain and she'll jump up onto the sink and then onto
the top of the shower doors. When I'm done showering. I have
to step out, dry my back and then bend over so she can jump
onto my back and then over my head onto the toilet. I am then
supposed to devote 110% of my attention to her for the next
    few minutes.

Well, in the morning if she feels she hasn't had her fair share
of attention she'll do the same thing. Up onto the sink then
the shower doors then she yells at me to bend over so she
can jump onto my back and then to the toilet where she gets
her lovins for the morning. :^)

    Nancy DC,

I thought it was just me! My Zuzu does the same darn thing as Mao.
I don't have the doors to the shower, but I do have a ledge.....my
ritual is the reverse of yours...Zuzu jumps from the toilet to thge
sink to my back to the ledge above the shower.... If I am not
being attentive, she will jump before I am ready, and more than
once Stephen has commented on "who put those scratch marks on your
back?" Soon I should be permanently scarred for life....

Oh well, all in a day's mothering, I guess.

so surprized at finding water in the tub. :-)

The Boogins (as we call her) has the *most* expressive face
I have ever seen on a cat. She can give you a look, that if
it was in a comic book would have every punctuation mark in
the book above it. And when she walked out of that bathroom,
with as much dignity as she could possibly muster for a soaking
wet cat, she must have been swearing a blue streak!
