4965.0. "Focus group for Hill's Feline Maint needs participants" by EMASS::SKALTSIS (Deb) Fri Sep 27 1991 11:09

I got a phone call last night from a woman that does market research. (She
initially called me because they are doing a survey of diehard Mustang owners
that sat on a focus group for an electric vehicle). Anyhow we got chatting and
she is trying to put together another focus group for Hill's that will
take place next week; she needs 30 people. The rules for this are that you
must already be a Hill's customer (i.e., that is all that you regularly feed
your cat), the cat must be over 12 months and under 10 years and must be fed
DRY Feline Maintenance (not canned, not light, not C/D, etc., but the DRY
Maintenance in the yellow bag). Also, you must not be a breeder or groomer.
They really want people with 6 or fewer cats (they assume that more than 6
means you are in business). You will be asked to bring an empty bag to prove
that you really feed this to your cat. Anyhow, you will get $20 and a bag of
food to feed to one particular cat. Hill's will contact you by phone a few
weeks later to ask some questions. Anyhow, as I said, this woman needs 30
people for this group, and while this isn't a big-bucks focus group thing, you
do get to give Hill's some input about a possibly new product. If you are
interested, send me MAIL and I'll send you the woman's phone # to call.

As a tangent to this, she is looking for professional WOMEN, preferably
engineers from large firms, that do a lot of business travel, both domestic and
foreign for a number of 1 hour focus groups; these groups pay $100 a shot (Mary
Tamir and Pam Levine, are you listening? Think of what your cat can squander
the $100 on) She is especially looking for anyone that has been to "Asia"
(including Japan and Hong Kong) over the past year, or that rode the "Trump
Shuttle" in the past year. Again, send me mail.

Oh, one more thing; the focus groups take place in Framingham, MA, right off
Speen Street (rt 30).

I wonder what business they think I'm in...Mary's Home for Wayward
    Cats??

Ha! $100 won't even cover Beth's visit to Dr. Bachrach next month!
Biff's been asking for a new Arubacat tree (for his exclusive use)...of
course he wants the $375.00 one....

Well, Biff obviously has simple taste; he likes the best... Only four
focus groups and Biff will have his tree. (By the way, she said she has
a real hard time finding women that do much business travel; knowing
that you have logged more air time than most pilots, you could make a
small fortune, and since they pay in cash, your cats might not even
    find out about it...)

4965.5I'd kill for your car, especially if it was a Shelby Cobra...EMASS::SKALTSISDebFri Sep 27 1991 14:548
    I'd kill for a mint '64 1/2 ; or a 65 if it was a ragtop. Friends of my
next door neightbors have one of the former, (70,000 origonal miles, not
a spec of rust, 4-on-the-floor, pony inlay on the seats, V8 engine). They
store it at my neighbors in the winter. They'd like to sell it, but I
don't have the liquid $15 K that they are asking (it is getting real
tempting to reach into my SAVE plan for it, though...)
