4958.0. "Anderson Inn" by DSSDEV::TAMIR (ACMS design while-u-wait) Tue Sep 24 1991 14:59

Hi...did anyone see the story on the Today show this morning about the
Anderson House in Robertshaw, Minnesota?? It's the inn that, when you
register, asks if you want a cat to sleep with?? I know this was
the topic of a note in here years ago, but it's nice to know it's
    still a thriving place!!

yes, I've heard of it several times. They've been on TV and in cat
magazines before. I know where I will stay if I ever go to Minnesota!

       Re .0
I know that the name of the town sounds like "Robertshaw"....but
it's really "Wabasha", a Chippewa Indian Chief's name.

I was born and raised 7 miles from the Anderson Inn, A.K.A. "The
Hotel Anderson". This is a neat place, and they really DO have "loaner"
cats to spend their nights with you when you stay there. They also have
a superb restuarant with a French Chef in residence...but if you are
ever in the area, DO TRY the "Walleyed Pike"!! It's one of the most
outstanding tasting fish and is caught locally in Minnesota...

Wabasha is on the Mississippi River, and a 2-3 block walk from the
Anderson will bring you to the banks of the Mississippi...

      I LOVE that area...but then, I'm totally prejudiced...after all,
    that's HOME!!!!

Well, you can tell who's been looking at home heating devices, eh,
    John??

I think the cutest part was when they showed a purring kitty cuddled up
sleeping between a couple that was on their honeymoon. Talk about
    finding Mr. Right!!!

4958.4Its fun to visit...DELNI::JMCDONOUGHWed Sep 25 1991 18:3815
You should see the "condo" where they live... It's really
neat....large, lotsa carpeted 'perches', and numeous laid back kitties
of all shapes 'n sizes. And outside the main condo are the 'traveling'
carriers that the kitties are put into to be carried to the specific
rooms, along with litterpans and water dishes. Usually--unless you are
staying for more than a night--they do not feed the cats in the rooms.

the lobby has a room right off of it that is literally WALLPAPERED
with articles and photos cut from upwards of 100 magazines that have
    done bits on the place...

Too bad there ain't more places like that...

If you're passing through, will they let you stay with your own cats if
    they are travelling with you?

Question.......

How do these people know that their kitties are going to be misused by someone.

It's this kind of risky?
