| Ernie and Bert were adopted on Tuesday by me. They are both very sweet
and very affectionate cats. I know that the decision for Cathy was
very difficult and I know that she really loved them in a special way.
She had them since they were babies and they "grew up" in the city
(Woburn). She took very good care of them and raised them into fine
young cats. Part of my adoption agreement was that Cathy have them
neutered before I take them-- I can't stand to see all the "adoption"
notes in here and all the unwanted cats. I will not allow Ernie and
Bert to contribute to that problem.
She certainly did name them correctly! Ernie is fun-loving and
mischievous the same as Ernie on Sesame Street and Bert is kind of slow
and cautious. Ernie is mostly black with a white mustache, white legs
and belly-- he does have one black toe (what would be on a human, the
middle finger!!). Ernie was the first one out of the cat carrier when
I brought them home. He immediately got out and begin sniffing around.
Bert is also black and white but has the most unusual markings I've
ever seen-- he looks very much like a Jersey Cow!! He is mostly white
and has a black "goatee", black mask from the eyes all the way down his
back & tail. He has one white streak (like a lightening rod) in the
middle of his back. His head is much bigger than Ernies but he is also
shorter than Ernie. Bert has the appearance of being quite chubby but
I think this is mostly due to his chipmunk cheeks.
They are adjusting very well to life in suburbia. They've never had
such a huge yard or a complete house to live in before (Cathy lived in
an apartment).
I've given Cathy an open invitation to call or visit when she feels up
to it. I know it was difficult for her to say Good-bye.
I thought that I would post my reply here to let you all know that
they have found a home so that you aren't still wondering like I often
do when I see adoption notes in here...
