4764.1 | I'd give Dr Chabot a try if I was back in Lex. | TOMLIN::ROMBERG | money: it's only paper | Tue Jul 02 1991 13:18 | 7 |
| Many moons ago, when my family lived in Lexington, we took our Tiger (cat) to
Dr. Chabot. We had no complaints. But then, all we ever went for was shots and
neutering ;^) I have no idea about current prices, etc. The last time we took
a cat to him was back in the early 1980's.

| I am not in the Lexington, MA area so I don't know the geography, but
I did a "show/key full vets" and there were many note numbers listed.
Most of those are located on the east coast, the MA and NH areas.
Also, if anyone has any bad experiences to relate, please do so via
mail rather than entering them here.

| I asked a co-worker who lives in Lexington and he uses Burlington Animal
Hospital. However, he did say that Dr. Chabot is equally good.

| Where you live in Lex. may help you determine who you want your vet to be. If
you live on the Waltham/Lincoln side, Dr. Chabot amy be more convenient (we
lived near 2A and 128, and Chabot started, his offices are where the Info center
are on 2A by the Hanscom entrance that's closest to the Sheraton) When he moved,
to his current location, he was still convenient. (And Tiger used to throw up if
the care ride was more than 15 minutes long - almost to the minute, so we went
with the closest vet)

| I live pretty close to you, but on the Waltham side. For the past
1-1/2 years I have been using Dr. Anne Johnson. She is based out
of Lincoln and only does house calls. Her phone number is 617-259-0697.
She is a wonderful vet and her prices for treatments, etc seem to be
on the low side, but she does charge a flat fee for house calls which
depend on how far she has to travel. I usually have her look at all
3 of mine when she comes to the house, so I get some economy of scale
that way. If you can coordinate an appointment with other people in
your area, you can also get a bit of a discount on her travel time.
Dr. Johnson is affiliated with Weston Vet Clinic (617-899-5377)
which is at 152 Boston Post Road (Rte 20) which is right at the
intersection of 128 and 20 - it's a pretty short ride down there
from where I live. My cats were there this week for dental work,
since they do surgery for Dr. Johnson's patients. I was very
impressed with the practice - they have 5 vets and are very nice
and professional. They also cost *alot*, but I would trust them
implicitly. Dr. Johnson is affiliated with other local clinics
as well, so you get your choice if your cat needs surgery.
