4691.0. "5 out of 6 sick w/virus" by DEMON::MURPHY () Mon Jun 03 1991 10:56
Well, now I have 5 cats a sneezing and not feeling so great with a
virus. The first one to come down with it was Thai last Friday.
Only one that doesn't seem to have it is my oldest, Buffy.
They're all still eating and drinking and no signs of diarrhea.
Midnight and D.P. threw up a couple of times Saturday but I think it's
because those two pigged out by trying to eat "extra" food besides their
own. Actually, I didn't hear D.P. sneezing at all this morning. Poor
Thai seems to be the one who sneezes the most. I miss having my babies
playing and active. Jamie and Holly (Holly has NEVER been sick with
anything until this virus) came down with it yesterday and started
sneezing. The only ones that have the running eyes are Middy and D.P.;
even Thai's eyes aren't. Symptoms of this virus are lots of sneezing,
running eyes (in some cases), and lethargy.
When I called vet said Saturday she said I should just keep their eyes
cleaned and keep watch on them if they stop eating or drinking. I was
scheduled to bring Middy and Thai in for their boosters tomorrow evening.
They won't be getting them though because of the virus.
Pat, Holly, D.P., Thai, Buffy, Jamie, Midnight (& Cookie)

| Prayers to all your babies. God...I've been there and it is so
tough to try and get rid of the "bug" when you have a multi
household of cats. good luck Pat...and stay calm for your
babies.
The shelter is going through the same thing...many cats are
sneezing and have runny eyes. Poor babies...most of them are
on Amoxi.
Sandy and the crew....
