4675.0. "Missing Cat by MRO(s)" by FSOA::NGRILLO () Thu May 23 1991 16:47

I am entering this note for a woman who works in my office (MRO3).

She lives approximately 2 miles from the MRO(s) facility and has been
missing her cat since Monday night.

Apparently she had let him out after getting home from work to get some
air and when she tried calling him in he didn't come back. She said
that she was awaken by a cat fight around 4am that morning and went out to
investigate but couldn't find the cat(s). To this day her cat has not
    returned.

She has called the dog officer, various vets, looked around the
    neighborhood, etc. with no success.

I thought it might be a good idea to add this note here, especially
since she lives so close to the MRO(s) and maybe he wandered in this
    direction.

She's only had the cat for approx. 3 months and she said he's pretty
skitterish and was not real comfortable being outside without someone.
(This is the part that is hardest part - if at *least* he wasn't
paranoid of being outside you'd think he had a better chance.)

His name is SUNSHINE. Sunshine is an orange and white long-haired cat
with a very fluffy tail (I've seen picture of him and he looks angora -
an abosultely beautiful cat!!) He's approx. 1 year old and on the
"large side". He might be injured if in fact it was him that was in
the fight that morning. Also, Sunshine is nuetered and is wearing a
    flea collar.

If anyone sees him (or even thinks they've seen him) please let me
    know.

I really feel for this woman since I have two babies of my own and am
constantly calling them when they're outside just to make sure they're
still around the house. She also had to put her 15 year old Calico to
sleep a couple of months ago.

Thank you all for any help you can give us - I know this note is with
    the right people.

    GREAT NEWS! SUNSHINE CAME HOME!!

I came in the office this morning and Diane had a smile on her face
from ear to ear. Her cat Sunshine came home last night!

She said she was doing dishes and heard his meow and sure enough there
he was. She said he was pretty dirty but was real surprised that he
wasn't hungry - she thought for sure he'd bolt it to the food dish but
he was just purring away and rubbing her. He was just real happy to be
    home.

    I love happy endings!!
