4649.0. "Biff - The Man and The Myth " by TPMARY::TAMIR (ACMS design while-u-wait) Wed May 15 1991 15:49

Some of you might recall that when Biff was neutered last fall, only one of
his manly parts showed up for roll call. My vet did exploratory surgery but
was not able to find the, uh, missing link....she explained that if the
missing part remained undetected, Biff would be, for all practical purposes,
a real man.

Well, guess what? Biff is a real man. His pee, unlike the Chanel No. 5 of
his brothers, smells to high heaven. He also had taken an unnatural liking
to his little brother, Mikey. And (I like this part best) he has started
spraying. He has also stopped singing nursery rhymes and now his favourite
song is "I'm a man, yes I am, and I can't help but love you so". We are
not impressed. So, next Tuesday, Biff goes back to the vet for another
exploratory operation. Biff asks that you all pray she doesn't find anything.
I ask that you pray she does!!

Lordy, does that little guy SMELL!!! The Navy is interested in using his
pee for chemical warfare.....

Poor Biff baby. Let us know how he does. (Can't they trace
the missing link? The whatsis is connected to the thisandthat,
the thisandthat is connected to the thiungummy....)

The vet said that she could find neither the whatsis nor the connective
plumbing from the whatchamacallit, so she's somewhat surprised that he's
come into his manhood. Poor Biff...this ain't gonna be fun for him at all!

Well, Townie is only a half a man right now too, but he still sings
that manly song all the time. He has taken a real interest in his
sister Dream who I have kept for breeding. Anyway, the boy is a year
old now, and the missing part hasn't made an appearance on it's own
yet, so I have assumed that we are going to have to form a posse and go
looking for it ourselves. All those interested in helping, meet me at
    Doc Rue's tomorrow morning at 9:30am. :^)

Hope me and the posse have better luck than your vet did!!!

Hey, I'll be there with Biff by my side!! Where do these parts go???
Amazing how they can elude everything except the nose........

Well, the posse was successful at finding the missing "part", and the
offender has been carted off. :^) Townie is recovering nicely. He has
two incisions, one in the abdommen (the vet swore that 9 times out of
10 the other testicle is in the abdommen, and since we had just done a
monorchid dog whose other part was in his abdommen, I didn't argue),
and the other in his left thigh. Incidently, we found the little "bit"
in exactly the spot I had told her I thought it was in. :^) But, the
darn thing was so small that the doc couldn't feel it through his skin.

Anyway, $150.00 later, Townie is now neutered!

YIPEE!! I wish me the same luck with Biff tomorrow!! I know it's in there
and I hope my vet can find it!

Oh, and in the interest of valuing differences, my apologies to any who
are offended at my stating that Biff had unnatural interests in his little
brother, Mikey. Perhaps I should have said that Biff has atypical interests...

Anyway, no matter how you view it, HE STINKS!!

Good luck to little Townie...feel better, baby!!

Mary
4649.7good luck Biff and MaryWR2FOR::CORDESBRO_JOset home/cat_max=infinityMon May 20 1991 15:2214
    Mary,

If she can't find the little thing, the best way to go about it is to
go into the abdommen and trace it back from the cord. She probably
knows that though. One problem with Townie was that he had quite a bit
of fat in his abdommen that made things harder to find. Hope Biff is
    svelte. :^)

After the surgery, Townie did not move for three days! I had him
confined in a cage so that he couldn't hurt himself, and he was very
happy with that arrangement. We also put him on 100mg. of Amoxi twice
a day to help ward off infection.

I LOVED that basenote. I can also appreciate all of this. Since
first CC, then Angel and now Halie have gone into heat things have
gotten especially interesting in the Putiput Household. Shadow now
*KNOWS* what he wants and Dundee knows he wants something but isn't
sure what. Bob had another Urinary track infection. $50 later Bob
is on Cefa-tabs & Prednisone and a urinary acidifier and DUndee is
    on Ovaban.

So I got a chuckle out of your note - and I *NEEDED* a chuckle.

re: .-2, Jo, the first place the vet is gonna look is his fat pads. Biff
was/is a svelte kitty, but he does have these fat pads that jiggle in the
breeze. When he was first neutered, everyone at the vet's were laughing at
his fat tummy. He weighed in a 8.1 pounds this morning. Just to let the
vet know how much of a man he is, the first thing Biff did in his cage was
spray the wall. Robin (my vet) came out to the waiting room and said to me
"That cat stinks!" She agrees: he's got "whole male stinkies".

We'll know by 2:00 this afternoon if the mission was a success!

re: .-1, Nancy, the rest of the boys seem a bit mystified by all of this
as well. Because he's the smallest, Mikey gets the most attention from Biff.
The girls must have laid down the law to Biff...Robin (the cat) belted him
across the kitchen floor a couple weeks ago, so he's been avoiding her like
the plague. And Julie...well, need I say more.....

4649.10Those darn fat padsWR2FOR::CORDESBRO_JOset home/cat_max=infinityTue May 21 1991 13:3615
Townie had major fat pockets. We weighed him in at 10.2 pounds before
we anesthetized him. Doc Rue won't let me hear the end of this fat
thing. She keeps teasing that we should call our cat food "Max FAT"
instead of "Max Cat"!! I try to explain that it has nothing to do with
the food itself, that it is the amount consumed that is the problem.
There are two things in this world that that cat loves to do...one of
them is eating. (Hopefully he won't love to do the other one anymore,
now that the "parts" are removed!)

Townie is getting back to his old self again as of yesterday. We were
able to let him out of isolation by last night. Hope Biff recovers a
little easier than Townie has. :^( BTW, the stink stays with them for
a while. Vet said it could be a couple of months. :^(

Mary, I heard that Biff is also contacting the "FIRM" to represent
him .. ie movie rightsa.. possible book.. smirk, grin, giggle
hugs to him and the rest of the kids
    Kate, Happy, Preschie, and Kissy..

Oh, no! Good thing he's already under the knife before Pussycat & Pussycat
can get the court orders!! My poor little Biffy...he'll get to keep his
fat pads, however! He's so lean other than those little pockets. When
he walks, you can see his muscles rippling and a quick pat down the sides
gives you a nice feel of ribs...just like me HA!!!!!

Anyway, I'll know in an hour...

YIPEE!!! The offending part has been located and removed!! I'm sooooooooo
happy and I get to take my baby home tonight!!! YIPEE!!!!!! As for the
stinkies, my vet also said it would be a month before the smell leaves him.
These male hormones.......

Now, I wonder if she'd do a certain sailor for me.........hee hee....

Glad Biff's surgery was a success. I'm telling you, if Dundee
smelled like a whole male cat I'd be on the phone to the vet who
neutered him asking if the vet found everything!

I have now seen it all (I think). Dundee and Angel were out on
their leashes the other day. I had gone into the house for a
minute and when I came out DUndee had Angel by the scruff of the
neck. So I just watched. He proceeded to climb on her back and
tread at the base of her tail with his back feet. Angel was looking
at me (I was in hysterics) saying "WHAT is he doing!" and Dundee
looked up and said "And what are YOU laughing at!". Jack arrived
home at that point, ran in the house and got the camera.

Poor Dundee. He gets not respect!

And mind you, he'd been on Ovaban for 4 days already.
    Never a dull moment.
