4574.0. "Wanted: Siamese kitten or cat" by CARTUN::LAPORTE () Mon Apr 22 1991 12:01

I'm am looking to purchase or adopt a siamese kitten/cat... The kitten/cat
will be a house pet -- we will not be showing the kitten/cat.

Does anyone have (or know of) a siamese kitten/cat for purchase/adoption
or where a good place may be to purchase one? We would like to purchase
him/her this week/weekend.

We would like the kitten/cat to be good with children.

Any help is appreciated.  THANKS.
Ann Laporte

4574.1Don't forget to check with sheltersDEMON::MURPHYMon Apr 22 1991 13:255
    You might want to check with your local shelters as they get purebreds
    turned in to them because of someone moving or going to a nursing home.

    I was at the Nashua Humane Society, New Hampshire this past
    friday and someone had bought in a beautiful seal point
    siamese kitten. It was probably 7-9 months old. It looked
    like the siameses in the Sheba cat food ads. It was a stray.!!!

    Please call them and find out the statis of this cat. 603-883-8512

               I would like to tell you that before you buy a siamese cat
               that you know that siamese cats can be very noisy at times
               and very loud too.By experience of my 3 years old siamese
               male cat i love him very much he is my big baby,but if i
               had know about the noise they make i would not have bought
               one.So by experience you should think twice before buy one.

                The females are not as bad.

    I can recommend a breeder in Framingham named Eleanor Hicks. She
    breeds the wedge-head style siamese. These are the thinner type
    siameses with the long heads. Most people are familiar with the
    "Applehead" or traditional siamese which looks more like the modern
    tonkinese.

    If you are interested in Eleanor's cats her number is:
       508 653-3335

    BTW - there's a CFF show in Cranston RI this weekend and she may be
    planning to attend so best to contact her soon.
