4541.0. "PAT BRODY--any news?" by SHALOT::CROCITTO () Thu Apr 11 1991 10:11

    Hi,

Does anyone have any news about Pat Brody, who runs the Purr-Fect
Cat-tel in Fitchburg, MA? I support one of the cats there, and
after I sent in last month's donation, I got a card back stating
    this:

"The Pat Brody Shelter for Cats has just received your gift in
    memory of PAT BRODY"

It was signed Annabella Brody and the volunteers.

I know that Pat had cancer and was quite ill, but had not heard
    anymore.

Can anyone please fill me in? I've written to this woman each month
and feel that I know her, even though I never met her. Her unselfish
devotion to homeless cats is an inspiration.

    Hoping for good news,

    Jane

    	Jane,

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Pat passed away a few
months ago. The shelter is being taken care of by a woman
named Priscill, Karen (?) Trainque, and the other volunteers
there. Another person who might be able to tell you more is
our own Sandy Merritt. She brought Priscilla to our Feliners
dinner a few weeks ago where Nancy DC presented her with the
Silver Lining Memorial fund and we all brought food and coupons and
    	litter for the shelter.

Sorry I couldn't give you better news. =(

My name is Kim Trainque. But you were close.

    RE: 0

Pat Brody passed away as a result of her cancer. We are continuing to
run the shelter under her. The shelter will be moving. Which cat are
you sponsering? We've been able to place quite a few lately.

The shelter is also in the processing of helping to save 15-20 feral
cats. So far we have captured six of them. They are all doing well.
We will hopefully be placing them soon also.

    Hi Kim,

Thanks for this information, and thank you, Sandy for sending me mail
privately to fill me in on Pat.

I was sponsoring "Bashful", and would like to continue to. Do you have
any info. on her? If someone has adopted her (and I certainly wish her
a loving, happy home!), I will sponsor another. Just let me know.

    Thanks,

    Jane

Darn! I'm sorry. I hate when I do that. I knew it was one
or the other, but I picked the wrong one.

From what Kim tells me you aren't the only one calling her
    Karen. :^)

I adopted Bashful about a month ago. Her new name is Sadie, and she's
doing great. My husband and I really love her, and we are starting a search for
a Siamese companion for Sadie. Thanks so much for sponsoring her, Jane! I'm
sure there is another kitty just waiting for your support.
