4502.0. "Farewell Molly" by WECARE::GERMANN () Mon Apr 01 1991 10:33

Last fall, there was a lovely white cat hanging around our church
in Manchester, NH. She was thin and obviously had no home. After
attempts were made to find her a home, our minister and his partner
    took her in.

The first night Molly was with David and Lisa, she hid under the stairs.
After coaxing her out, she hid under their bed for several days.
Finally getting brave enough, she ventured forth to start getting
    acquainted with her new home.

David and Lisa took wonderful care of this shy and scared cat. They
took care of her ear mites, her worms, her feline acne. They fed her
only the best food. They gave her time to feel comfortable. She
finally got to the point of curling up in their laps.

But Molly still had some health problems. 2 weeks ago when I was
there, she had been vomiting and was pitifully thin. The vet thought
it might be worms again. But things still didn't improve.

On Friday they discovered that Molly had developed a tumor on her
thymus which was pressing on her esophogus and lungs. She was unable
to swallow and her lungs were only functioning at about 1/3 of their
    capacity.

And so, on Saturday Molly was helped out of her pain and passed to the
other world. David and Lisa are heart broken. They gave her so much
love and tried so hard to bring her back to health. Yesterday, they
lit a candle during church service for Molly. I think everyone in the
congregation had tears in their eyes.

Please send your condolences to David and Lisa here. I will share them
    with these two wonderful friends.

    	Dear David & Lisa,

Many of us here in the Feline Notes File have been through what
you are going through and we will continue to go through the
losses, because the joy that our furry friends give us when
they are with us is worth the pain when they "leave". Molly
finally had a good life when you two adopted her. She was
luckier then alot of stray cats - she picked you two to love
and take care of her, which you did so beautifully.

Our thoughts are with you - believe me, Molly would say Thank You
and don't cry for me - I'm OK now!

    	Regards,

Dee (Who's been owned by many cats and dogs)

Please share my sincere sympathy with your friends. They gave
Molly a loving home that she probably would have never had if
it weren't for them. And I'm sure Molly brought alot of joy
    to their house.

Again...I'm so sorry for this lose.

I, too, am so sorry to hear of the the passing of Molly. I have
learned so much during the lives of my pets and in their passing. I've
learned a sort of unconditional love that has helped me in so many
other areas. Molly has touch your lives deeply - probably more that
you now realize and perhaps she has opend the way for some other who
will benefit from your love and caring.

Try to remember the good times and she will always live in your heart.

    Prayers and Hugs,

Please tell David and Lisa that I will add Molly's name to the
Silver Lining Memorial and that a donation will be made in her
name and the name of all those wonderful feline companions who
have recently passed from our lives.

I'm sure that the love David, Lisa and Molly shared made her short
time on earth a valuable time.

also sad to hear of molly's passing. she was fortunate to have found
such a good home with people who would love her, even if it was for
    just a short time.
