| Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do I have news for you feliners or
what! I called the number on the poster and this is what I found out
.....
This Cat Club exists in order to fund cat charities - mainly the
Buckland Cat Sanctuary. This sanctuary houses approx 70 permanent
residents that cannot be rehomed for one reason or another. They also
take in and rehome strays/unwanted cats.
The club holds several talks per year and has a cat show just for HHP -
pedigrees are only allowed in exhibition. This show is one of the main
fund raising events. Here is the plea .... They would love to get their
hands on as many non-UK rosettes as possible for special prizes at the
show. They have prizes for the naughtiest cat, warrior cat (ie with
battle scars), best rescue cat etc. Apparently US rosettes are the most
highly prized of all!
This club sounds like a great cause to me and I would like to do
something to help raise funds for them - starting off by collecting
rosettes. So ...... has anyone out there got any that they don't need?
I am coming over to the USA next week, so I can collect them at the
feliners evening! PLEASE let me know if you have any!!!
I have asked the organiser of the club to send details and I will be
visiting the cat sanctuary after my trip to the USA to see what is
there.
I am particularly keen to help cos the first anniversary of losing
Percy is the week after next and I promised I would do something in his
memory before the year was out.

for use, especially the CFA ones? I just thought of it...do we

| Being fairly new to showing and all, I can't imagine ever parting with
Murdock's rosettes! :^). Maybe one day when we have our house
wallpapered in them I will be able to part with the excess!!

I don't think that there is any problem with sending old CFA rosettes over there.
I belong to a breed club and we exchange rosettes with our sister club in
Australia all the time. I don't think that we needed permission to do it.
Guess it wouldn't hurt to ask though.
I wrote to Lisa and suggested mailing the rosettes to someone on the east coast
and then letting her carry them back with her in her luggage. Haven't heard
back from her. This seems to be the least expensive way to get them to the UK.
I also asked her to find out how many they will need.

| Thanks for the replies - sorry I've been a long time replying, I have
been out of the office today.
If people could give between 5 and 10 nice rosettes each, that would be
great! I am trying to collect about 50 all together. Oh, and don't
worry, I have a VERY large suitcase! I might get some wierd looks from
customs though! I'll be collecting them at the feliners do on Thursday.
Thanks to Lynne for volunteering to be a "mail drop"!
Rolf has only won 4 rosettes, so I won't be donating many (any ;-)
of his!
Thanks again - this is a great file! The Oxford and District cat show
should be very colourful this year!

Ummm. Didn't realise that you had different rosettes for cats and
kittens! What about some of both :-)
The feliners do is Thursday 21st March - next week. I'll be at ZKO on
Friday if the mail is delayed ...
Perhaps I should bring two suitcases ....

Lisa, I've never heard of anything like this to be before.
They're usually clubs, or shelters, but this mix sounds as if it could
really work.

| More news .....
I will be taking the rosettes to the secretary of the club later this
month or next month. I plan to visit the sanctuary at the same time.
While I was talking to her, she mentioned that the sanctuary is always
in need of old towels and blankets for the cats to sleep on. So, UK
feliners, got any spare towels or blankets? Send me mail and I'll come
and get them.
The HHP show is every February - so we've missed it for this year :-(
However, when I get the new date I'll post it here. I have made several
copies of the details that they sent me - let me know if you want a
copy.
So, towels and blankets wanted! Don't forget!
