| One good product to control static electricity is Ring 5 Coat Gloss.
You can either send away for it from a catalog like Cherrybrook or
purchase it in a pet supply store that sells grooming products. It
is a spray that doesn't leave a sticky film and can be used as often as
needed. Just spray a light mist onto the coat and brush until dry.
Works great. You might also try putting more moisture into the air
with either a humidifier or a few bowls of water placed throughout the
house.

| Also, if you are using a brush on her, then switch to a comb with metal
teeth. Combs are better for longhairs.
You can get shampoos that control static, or you can buy all kinds of
antistatic grooming sprays. I use the House of Anju Anti-Static coat
conditioner on my cats.
If you are using a brush on her, you can spray the Static Guard on the
brush and try controlling it that way, but the combs would be better
for her coat.

| When the air gets dry, the static gets worse...
You need to put moisture in the air as you may
give her a static shock when you walk across the
carpet and then touch her. Placing bowls of water
near heat vents helps, along with using a humidifier.
(Only $20 ea at BJ's, we bought one last week and it
works great!)

| BTW - if you walk across the rug and pick up static electricity
and then touch one of your stereo components you stand a very good
chance of damaging it. That's how we lost our CD Player last year.
