4354.0. "Hacking" by XCUSME::FULTZ () Wed Feb 06 1991 09:23

    Me and my Husband have adopted a new cat. She is having
    a problem in the last fews days with hacking.

    She is short haired so I didn't think that they got fur balls.

    Last night she threw up ...so I thought was ever was caught was
    gone, but this morning she started again.

    Thanks

    	Hi Donna,

    	Even tho she's short haired, she can still have hairball
    	problems...3 of mine are shorthaired, I give them Laxatone
    	or Petromalt every few weeks or so, it can't do any harm.

    I too think it's hairballs. Rici is short-haired, and sometimes
    he hacks something awful...

    Where did you get her? Do you know any of her history? It may
    be hairballs or it may be something else.

    It's a good idea to take any new cat into the vet to be checked over
    and get shots, etc. Sounds like time to do that, although very
    possibly it is hairballs.
