4337.0. "UPDATE: Buster the cat" by FRAGLE::PELUSO (PAINTS; color your corral) Mon Jan 28 1991 08:27

I felt it was time to give a Buster the cat update.

Buster *was* a tom who had been pestering my cat this
past summer....even sent her to the emergency room (when
she says No.....she means it). Well I had caught him then
with all intents to bring him to the vet to get fixed,
but I couldn't get him into anything which would hold him...
he is a big, strong cat! I let him go and he was seen a few
weeks later at my instructors barn (about 3 miles away).

No one had been able to catch him since.

The number one tom at the barn was *gelded* w/ another horse
a few months back, and he recently started letting Buster
around more. A few weeks ago, the weekend kid was helping me
with my trailer and I told him if he could catch Buster, I'd get
him cleaned up and fixed.....well sure enough he called
me that night to tell me Buster was in the Rabbit cage awaiting
the future. I quickly arranged to have him neutered
at Northboro Animal Hospital. I also had him wormed - he was real
skinny (and some nice noters had given me some $$ to help
	defray costs).

Buster came through his operation great and was happy to be back
in the barn w/ all the other cats and kittens. He has become
real fat and and real friendly......I am so happy for him...he is
	a great cat!

So happy you were finally able to take care of Buster. I'm
sure he'll be a much happier cat now that he is fixed and won't
have to go running around town.

Is he in your barn so you will get to keep your eye on him? He'll
    probably become a good friend.

No, the barn isn't mine, but my instructors. (I have left explicit
instructions that Buster not be given away (kitties first), because
I have future adoption plans for him....)

But I go there several times a week for lessons and to catch up on
the latest scoops.....and he is a love! The told me he climbs into the
rabbit cage every nite to sleep, and the kittens join him. I don't
know what we'll do when we catch the next cat to get fixxed....Buster
might not give up the cage.
