They should heal normally but try some vasaline on the pads just
to stop infection getting in the sores...
I don't think she'll jump on the stove in a hurry again!

| If you put anything on the pads, the cat will lick it off. There are
some that say that cat saliva helps to heal wounds, and that licking
would be a good thing. On the other hand, some cats go overboard and
lick too much, causing the wounds to get much worse. I have a cat that
was like that, she would lick holes in herself.
The best thing you could do is ask the vet if he feels that she needs
to have anything on her paws now that the blisters have broken.

| And since the skin is sensitive, even something that's normally
soothing might irritate it. I'd ask the vet also. poor puss.

| Poor Prudence. I know how he feels. When I was a teenager, I fell
asleep in a recliner, that just happened to be next to a wood stove.
I woke up startled and went to get out of the chair. Instead of
putting both hands on the arms, one went on the arm and the other
missed and went on the stove. I've had a few major burns and I don't
think there's anything more painful. I had a 1" thick blister on the
entire palm and underneath each finger. Didn't sleep for 2 nights.
Just kept my hand in an ice bucket. I suppose a trip to the doctor
may have been helpful.
Hope he feels better soon.

| Thank you all for your replies. Pru feels much better now, and is back
to normal (i.e. systematically destroying the house). I just worry
about what she'll do next.
Helen.
