| I know that when I had LB in at the vet's for FUS recently, he
said to put off cleaning his teeth until the FUS was well cleared
up, because he didn't want bacteria floating around in his system
when the gums might be vulnerable. The knee bone's connected
to the thigh bone. the thigh bone's connected to the .... I
guess that's what it is. Please let us know how Dillan is
doing.

| re: kidney infection vs UTI - UTI is Urinary track infection and
the kidneys are certainly part of the urinary track. A UTI may
include infection of the kidneys but it doesn't have to.
It makes sense to me that if the kidneys are infected they
wouldn't work as they are supposed to and the presence of
substances in the system that would normally be removed by a
healthy kidney would result in a change in bodily secretions,
like saliva.

| Thanks for the replies, it certainly does seem as though the two
are connected...I wonder why he wasn't showing any symptoms of kidney
trouble the first time???
I have to take him back to the vet when he has finished his anabolic
steroids (just over a week left) unless he gets worse, which he
hasn't...in fact he's more lively now than he has been for a long
time - no wonder Ben Johnson won the race!!!!sorry!
I just feel sorry for Sammie as Dillan keeps lying in wait and mugging
him. I got home last night to find a mountain of Sammie's jet black
fur at the bottom of the stairs, half way up the stairs and on the
landing...I don't even want to think about what happened??!!??
I'll let you all know how I get on at the vets when I take him back.

| My vet once told me, when I remarked on the large amount of
shedding that my cats do in the vet's office,. that a
sort of "voluntary" shedding of fur takes place in fight/fright
situations, his guess was that it was actually a defense
mechanism to prevent wounds or something. So, it probably
isn't like its being ripped out by the roots.

| when Hannah and The Flash are "rough-housing" around the place, tufts of white
hair float around everywhere....seeing the "remains" without seeing the action
would convince anyone that we have a reall hassle here - but the girls are
just wrestling a little. My house looks like I've plucked a cat every night
when I get home from work....oh well, they seem to have lots more where that
came from...8^}
I wouldn't worry about the cat hair unless I started seeing cat skin...then,
off to the vet.
