4299.0. "High Tor kitty food??" by MR4DEC::HAROUTIAN () Wed Jan 09 1991 16:06

Anyone have any experience with a kitty food called High Tor(C)? It's
supposed to be made by Hills, and our pet store owner claims it just
the same thing as Hills Prescription Diet C, only difference being it's
a retail pack and it's cheaper.

    Thanks,
    Lynn

High Tor is put out by Triumph. I buy Triumph (High-Tor) dog food for
    my two Shelties.

As for their cat food product which is suppose to be okay for cats
having had FUS, I did try it on my two cats who have both had FUS.
One of the cats, Oscar, was experiencing noticeable trouble urinating
(many trips to the box with no results) while the other cat, Kashmere,
did not seem to have any problems with the change of food.

I had them on this food for about one month when I decided to go back
to the Hills prescription food because of Oscar's apparent difficulty.
I felt a month was sufficient time for them to adjust to the new food
and it was probably a safe bet that it was not working out well for
    at least Oscar.

So, my response isn't very conclusive. Your cat may not have any
trouble. The pet food store I go to was the one who recommended it
in the first place. The owner told me that MANY owners of FUS cats
have switched to this food with no problem.

    The choice is yours.

    Regards.
