| I received my first baby pictures of Kelsey when he was four weeks old.
He wasn't looking directly into the camera -- he was ambling about on
the floor (probably trying to walk!!). They were only polaroids, but
very cute! I got subsequent pics from the breeder at 8 and 11 weeks.
If you take the photos during the day when you don't need a flash they
would probably be less inclined to frighten. Even my adult cats hate
it when I take their pictures with a flash.

4286.2 | Tells us all about them | CUERVO::ROSSI | Give me another word for Thesaurus.. | Fri Jan 04 1991 12:36 | 11 |
| Well if all seems well, you won't need to take them to the vets until
6-9 weeks when their first set of shots are due. Usually at 6,9,& 12
weeks or at 9, 12 & 16 weeks are the agreed upon norm. for kitten shots
Make sure if you do need to take mom and babies to vet that there all
in a carrier. This should prevent her from "freaking out".
Tell us more about your babies, How many, what sexes. Can you tell
what colors you have yet? Where are you located?

| Ya GOTTA take those photos NOW!! We took pictures of our kittens
WAAAYY before their little eyes were even open. You'd be amazed at how
little the flash will bother them... (Although with adult cats it
sometimes doesn't work that way....)

4286.4 | the 'Sugar Babies' | MR4DEC::SHALLAN | | Fri Jan 04 1991 14:21 | 17 |
| The 'Sugar babies' are little fur balls with blue eyes. This is Sugars
first litter so she only had 3, 1 died right after birth. I think one
is male and one is female, but I'm not positive yet. The one I think
is the male is a little bigger and fluffier (especially his head)
the littlest one is very vocal and active and strikes me as a female.
Right now their points are a lilac color, but I believe they will turn
chocolate because both parents are choc. points. They were born in
a cat bed I bought for Sugar just 1 week before she had the kitties.
They can get out of the bed now, but then can't get back in, so I made
a little pen for them and Sugar so they can't wobble to far off.
I talk to them alot and they wobble heads around trying to focus on the
source of the sound, it's the cutest when they finally zero in and look
me straight in the face! I just love them soooo much! I wish I could
keep them all to myself.

| Sharon -
I took pictures of the kittens before, during and at all times after
birth :-) They never seemed to notice.
re: vet's - I chose to give my own shots so my kittens didn't see a
vet until they got their rabies shots either when their new owners
took them in for their "well visit" or when I took them in around 4
months old. Personally, I feel that taking a 6 week old kitten
out into the cold to a place people bring sick animals is pretty risky.
I would try to find a vet that will come to you.
FYI - my kittens got "Felovac PCT" (3-in-1 all killed virus) at 6 weeks
and Eclipse-KP (4-in-1, killed panleukopenia) at 9 & 12 weeks. I
administered all shots.

| re: .5
Hi Nancy,
I did snap a couple of pictures of the cuties over the weekend. Didn't
seem to bother them a bit. I also have a camcorder set up to catch
them in action. They seem very curious and will just stare at you for
the longest time! They are moving around alot now, as well as fall and
roll over. It's a riot!
Are you a vet? I really don't think I could stomach giving them a shot
myself. I usually have to close my eyes when the vet gives Sugar her
shots. I wouldn't know what, where, how or how much to give them
anyway. I don't know if the vet I use makes house calls. Do many
vets do that generally? I wouldn't want them getting sick from a
well visit to the vets, but I do want them to have the appropriate
shots before they go to their new homes.
Thanks,
Sharon

| If you live near the Grafton area, I know of a great vet who makes
housecalls: Dr. Linda Breitman.
She checked and vaccinated my 4 guys last month and was very thorough
and her prices reasonable.
She does travel out of the Grafton area, but the price of the housecall
goes up. I believe she charges $20 for non-Grafton residents, plus the
cost of the checkups and shots.
Let me know if you would like her phone number.

| re: .7 Thanks Roberta, but I don't live near Grafton. I'm closer to
Littleton/Acton/Groton area. I think I'll call my vet and see if he
can recommend someone that does housecalls.
