4279.0. "Himalayan Breeders?" by CLT::KOBAL::CJOHNSON (Eat, drink and see Jerry!) Wed Jan 02 1991 12:53

    Hi all,

I am interested in getting a purebred pet quality Himalayan
(pref: Chocolate point). I have contacted one breeder and
I may be on the list for one of her babies. Is there any
Himmie breeders out there? I really want a male because
I'm not interested in breeding or anything like that. I'd
have it fixed as soon as possible. The females are a little
more money. I had a male persian and he was great, I loved
    his personality.

If anyone out there has any info., please reply or send
    me mail (PARFUM::CJOHNSON).

I am located in Nashua, NH

    Thanks,
    Chris_&_Callie

4279.1Himmy kittens anyone?CUERVO::ROSSIGive me another word for Thesaurus..Thu Jan 03 1991 14:4612
    Hello,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Valerie Rossi My registered cattery
name is "Valique" Cattery. I raise Himmys/Persians in the Merrimack, NH
    area.

Although I do not specialize in Chocolate points, I am expecting a litter
of kitten in a few weeks. I am anticipating seal or flame points from
the breeding. If your interested please send me mail on Cuervo::rossi
or give me a call 264-6014 and I can give you some more info.

Yes, and of course tortie points.

the mother is a Tortie Hy-bred and the father is a flame point Himmy.

So I am also anticipating solid blacks, reds, torties, maybe dilutes
not positive. Posibility of cream and cream points as well. Last time
I thought about it I counted 12 different possibilities. We'll just have to
wait and see. They are due around the first of March.

Have a question for you Jo. Do both parents need to be dilute carriers
    for blues?

As far as I know, blue is just a simple recessive. When you get into
all those other colors, you start to confuse me! ;^) Both parents have
to carry blue in order to through one, so unless you know that both
carry it, then we will just have to wait and see if you get any.

That would be fun if they did, cause then you would have the
possibility of blue cream points females too!

    When are they due?

    Hi Chris,

I know you wanted a kitten but, my Aunt has a purebred female
Himalayn that will be 2 years old the end of March. Her name
is Kaluah (sp) and she is a self-chocolate (all choc. with copper
eyes). Very pretty cat. If your interested, send me mail and
I can put you in touch with my Aunt.
