4257.0. "REMEMBER THE HOMELESS ANIMALS AT XMAS" by POCUS::NORDELL () Tue Dec 18 1990 12:20

If you are looking at holiday cards, Hallmark has one 'from the cat'
with a cat coming out of holiday wrapping. That cat is exactly what my
'Whiskey' looks like. Can you beat that - he's been out modeling for
greeting cards while I'm slaving away at DEC and a part-time job. And
I haven't even seen any money for litter or food!

Seriously, I bought the card and sent it with a note and small donation
to the shelter where we adopted him almost two years ago. He has been
such a joy and a love (even if he sleeps ON (not next to) my head every
    night.

This is just a reminder to remember the unwanted, homeless animal that
will not have a warm, cozy food-filled holiday. Even small donations
are welcome. I know my Whisk is glad he has a home and I am glad he is
    with me.

I am going into Hallmark tonight and will look for that card....

My White Lightning posed for the cards I am sending out and I didn't
even know it either. And I always thought *my kids* told me
    everything......

I agree about the homeless babies, both feline and canine. I try to
help them and also the *two-legged* homeless. Xmas can be a very
lonely time for many. It always makes me remember that I am a very
lucky person. I have a home, two wonderful girls (two-legged), four
wonderful cats and one wonderful dog. I also was blessed with a
    beautiful grandson earlier this year.

And most of all, I have a wonderful *family of friends* from both
    Felines and Canines.

    Merry Xmas,

Cat Fancy carries an for Orphan Alley, a shelter in the northwest.
For a minimum $10.00 donation you can sponsor a cat for a year.
So that's what my dad got for his birthday this month. He called
the other day to let me know that he received a nice letter and a
picture of "his" cat. He was very pleased!

For anyone in Colorado, you might consider a donation to Fur Purries, a
cat shelter in Pueblo that serves the Springs southwards. I was at
their Christmas party this past Monday, and they have just moved to a
new building to house more cats; the building requires a lot of fixup
work, plus the ordinary day-to-day expenses of running a cat shelter.
They also have a lot of cats and kittens who could use a good home,
    also.
