4210.0. "Declawed and needs home" by EXPRES::BRODEUR () Thu Nov 29 1990 13:09

    Had another call for help over the phone by yet another person who is
    told by her doctor to get rid of her cat because of asmatic symtoms.
    So....a home is needed for a Declawed-Male-Grey cat, the owner wants
    to be financially responsible for food and vet bills and and obviously
    wants to keep close ties with the cat. The owner lives in Concord Ma
    area. Sounds to me that the cat could move in with another declaw pal

    Is another home absolutely the only answer ? You don't say what the
    owner's property is, but if there were space maybe a small sheltered
    enclosed outdoor run with somewhere warm and cosy to sleep may answer
    this. I know it's a bit impractical, but it would minimise the owners
    exposure to cat hairs and associated skin flakes as these would no
    longer be present in furnishings carpets &c. It sounds like the
    owner is very fond of the cat judging by their committment to it's
    upkeep, so this may allow the owner to still enjoy their pet.

    Just a thought.

    The previous reply indicated some interest anyway, so at least the
    options seem to be open.
