Hi,

I am  currently  in a very poor financial situation. My husband lost his job
over  six  months  ago  and  that, on top of overwhelming consumer debt, has
really put us in a difficult position.

I currently  have  three  cats. One, a kitten, needs her last FeLV shot next
week  and  her  spay  in  January.  Even  though  the  place I go to is very
reasonable  ($26  for  the shot, $50 for the spay), I now find myself in the
difficult  position  of  not being able to afford these. On top of this, the
other  two  cats  have  been  sneezing and I'm afraid they might have one of
those upper respiratory infections. Again, I cannot afford to take them into
the vet.

I feel  very  guilty about this as I love my kitties very much and, up until
my  husband  lost  his  job,  was  able to afford top quality care for them.
However  now  we  barely have enough to eat (though of course I buy cat food
before  people  food  as I don't think they should suffer), much less enough
for kitty care.

I was  wondering if anyone could help me with my veterinary expenses. I will
pay  those  who  can  help  once  we get back on our financial feet, but I'm
afraid that that won't be for a while. Although my husband has been looking,
he hasn't been able to find any work.

Thank you  so  much. I feel really bad about "begging" for money, but I want
to  provide  necessary  care for my kitties. I really do appreciate any help
you could give me.

         I just wanted to come out in the open and say that I'm the
    anonymous noter in .0.  I felt so embarrassed and ashamed about our
    present financial problems, but with the kindness and caring of
    FELINErs I've learned that I really shouldn't be.
    
         I want to thank everyone for their help and suppport.  Midnight
    got her last FeLV shot last week and the boys had to go in for URI's as
    I was afraid of.  Everyone seems to be doing okay now.
    
         Midnight's spay is in January.  Hopefully next year will be a
    better year for us.
    
         Again, thank you so much.  I couldn't have done it without you!

    Don't feel embarrassed and ashamed about asking for help.  We have all
    had similar problems at one time or another.  Just so you don't feel
    like you all alone out there with financial problems, you can count me
    in too.  This has been a very difficult year in our industry.  My
    husband is paid on commission only so some months it is just like not
    having a job.  Just hang in there and be supportive of each other.
    Ken and I always try to keep a positive outlook (though we have learned
    not to say that things can't get any worse!! ;^}).  Things will get
    better, you will get through this.
