4202.0. "found cat in Nashua, NH " by TUNER::SCHIRALDI () Tue Nov 27 1990 14:06

    Hi,

Recently, a cat found me in the Nashua, NH area. The cat is
brown with an orange head and a big, fluffy brown tail. Also,
he has white paws, that, well, almost look like boots.

Last night the cat stayed on my patio and watched TV thru the
window. I thought it was just lost and would go away but it
didn't. This morning, it had looked like it was playing in
the leaves and it was definately out all night. It is probably
somebody's cat that's lost. It's *very* friendly, and not
afraid of dogs (wow!). My dog is afraid of cats, otherwise
    I would have kept it.

The cat was found in Thoreau's landing complex at the end of
Lock Street in Nashua, NH. I took the cat to the Nashua shelter
(the one behind the club 99 off exit 7) so the cat is there now.
I did feed it some tuna fish (hope that's the right thing to
    do).

As you can probably tell, I don't know much about cats, and
I don't read this conference frequently (hope I'm not offendening
anyone by this but I thought you should know in case you try to
contact me). For more information about this cat, please call
either the Nashua shelter or me at (603)881-5503 (if you think
    it's yours).

Also, it did not have any colar or anything. I really hope
somebody can adopt it because it's a really friendly, mild
cat that didn't bite or scratch or anything. And I'm not
even that fond of cats (again, no offense intended, I just
    prefer dogs :-).

    Regards,
    --Carol--

Ooops. Forget to mention a few things. The shelter said the
cat is a female. Also, it had light colored (yellow or green
eyes). It was really pretty, so I hope somebody claims it.

4202.2NO OFFENSE TAKENAIMHI::OFFENTue Nov 27 1990 17:1813
I'm definitely not offended by anyone trying to help a lost or stray
animal. Taking the cat to the shelter is better than letting it
try to survive in freezing weather.

It's not my kitty and I do hope someone here can help. How about
posting the description on street corners and local stores?? Kids
have a way of knowing all the animals in the area.

    Good luck.

You could also call local vets and animal control officers to see
if anyone has called looking for a lost cat or has posted a "lost cat"
    ad.

Glad you took care of the poor thing.

And as far as dogs and cats go, some of us are dog-people, some
cat-people and some just plain animal-people (like me :-) thats
    called "valuing differences". :-)))
