Cin, we tried to come up with a name last weekend, but to no avail.
I'm not going to mention any names, but SOMEONE thought that it was
pretty funny that we were trying to incorporate Tiger Stripes into
a name for an all white baby girl....
|
4179.2 | Hey, I thought it was a great name! | WR2FOR::CORDESBRO_JO | set home/cat_max=infinity | Wed Nov 14 1990 13:48 | 11 |
| Ya, she isn't mentioning any names, but I guess we all know who thought
it odd to name a solid kitten with a Stipe name.
So, I guess this means that the name I thought of wasn't good, huh
Marlene??
I liked Cattyshack's Stripteaze. ;^) Or you can play with it and make
it Stripeteaze, since we all know that she doesn't show stripes, but is
hiding them under her dominant white coat!
Jo

4179.3 | Stripe-less or Stripe-lees? | TPMARY::TAMIR | ACMS design while-u-wait | Wed Nov 14 1990 14:14 | 7 |
| How about Stripeless, a little variation on Stripees?? If she looks like
DWeeBs, how about DWeeGs? I'm not too original with my guys, either.
Mikey got his name because he wouldn't eat most of the different food
I gave him except for Iams (He likes it! Hey, Mikey!). Biff got his name
cause the first thing he did to me was sock me in the nose.

but, let's keep the ideas coming!
The only thing I was able to come up with (Besides DWeeGs, Mary!) was
Ghost Stripes. But, it just didn't seem to have it!

she's a little cutie!
I'm not really good at names either, but isn't there some type

named using an N since they were born in 90. I have already used up my
best two names, Mysinhs Night Moves (Bob Seger), and Mysinhs Night On
The Town (Bruce Hornsby).
The father's name is Mysinhs Moody Blue
The mother's name is Pleasantview's Limoges of Mysinhs
The Pleasantview cattery uses names of antique glass or crystal when
naming their cats. That breeder has offered me some of her names, like
Noritake, Netsuke, Normandie, Newport... none of these seem right.
I have a blue girl and a seal girl to name. Could use some help.

| The naming of cats is a wonderful thing! When named Stinky (Majula's
Full Sienna Moon)aka Shin Khann, I used what I considered to be
Oriental (moon) and colors (sienna is a dark brown, He's a chestnut)
becuase I majored in art. Shin Khann was a warrior and I forget the
rest about this personage, but he was famous in Zen stuff.
I used to associate names with mythology too. Astraea was my dog. I am
a virgo. Her name was that of a goddess who was placed upon the earth
to bless all mortals (me). When the Golden Age of mythology was over
she was placed in the heavens as the constellation Virgo!

is currently only about a month old. Anyway, he was born in 90 so
will need a good N name. I was in the Movies conference and saw a

From the conversation it appears to be a movie about Vampires. Does
anyone know the origin of the word? I like it but want to be sure that
it is appropriate to use as a name.

Not a pleasant chap at all. There's another, similar name that has a

| Thanks for the information. I am an Ann Rice fan and her vampires are
kind of nice guys. :^) I thought maybe Nosferatu was the same way.
Anyway, glad to know that the name would have bad connotations *before*
I put it on the registration papers.
Thanks also for the name suggestions. There were several that I liked
in the lists. Will have to check the Birman newsletters and see if
they have been used already. That is the problem when you have a whole
breed using the same letter to name their cats. You end up with lots
of duplication. I like to try to use a name that no one else has used
or thought of.
Thanks again.
