4158.0. "Introducing myself - I'm a new reader" by MRED::LADEROUTE () Fri Nov 09 1990 12:59

    Hi everyone!

I am a new reader of feline. I thought I should take a few minutes
to introduce myself. My name is Debbie, and I love cats. I have
a four year old seal point himalayn named Sidney, and I am starting
to look for another himalayan kitty to add to my family.

I am considering showing the new kitty and maybe my Sidney too.
(Nancy DC has given me some great info.) Does anyone know of any
himalayan kitties that are/will be born soon/not-so-soon? I have
one lead from a friend of my husband. The mom is a tortie and
the dad is a blue point. I have nothing against torties, but I was
hoping for a either a blue or a flame point.

I understand there is a chance she may have a flame. Is this
correct? I'm pretty knew to this. Please excuse me if that was
a dumb question. I don't understand kitty genetics that well.

Hope everyone has a purrrfect day! :^)

Yes, the queen could have a flame kitten if she carries the recessive
gene for point color. But, all the female kittens will probably be
tortie or blue-cream (pointed or otherwise depending on whether she
carries pointed). I think that she also has a chance of having blacks,
blues, reds. Cin and/or Ray will have to confirm/deny this. :^)

WELCOME! I hope you will feel free to ask any questions. The only
dumb question is the one not asked. We share everything here from high
points to low ones and I feel like we are one big nutty family. Enjoy!
BTW-I have a mongrel kitten named Flirtaysha and we both welcome you.

I just want to say welcome and hope that you enjoy this notesfile. It
has a wealth of information - a lot of support, understanding and
caring - and some of the nicest people I have ever met.

Look forward to hearing from you often...

    Welcome, welcome, welcome.

I couldn't survive without this notesfile.....

And yes, some of us are a *little nutty*. I can say that because
I am one of those *nuts*.

Whenever my kittys get outside I stand out there in my warm red fuzzy
robe shouting * THUNDER, LIGHTNING, OH STORM.......* My neighbors
    know I am crazy.....

Thanks for the welcome! I hope that I will be talking to all of
you a great deal. I have already learned quite a bit from reading
this notes file. It's nice to see that so many people love their
cats as much as I love mine.

    Take care.

    Welcome Debbie -

I have two himmies. Both are sealpoint, one female (spayed, retired
queen) other is a neutered male.

Female came from a breeder in Littleton. Where are you located?

My two kitties are as different as day and night. Ming (female)
is small, with a little pug nose (NO PIG FACES IN OUR HOUSE) and
has a cottony coat and is cobby looking, and weights in at 8 lbs.
Miyagi is a big boy, his coat is like a burman very dense and is
all one lenght, he is long, tall and weighs 17 pounds. Needless
to say I love them both.

Please let me know where you are and I will write/call you and
give you info on a breeder
