| well, I didn't leave Hannah's toys with her, but I did call 4 times to make
sure she was okay when we had her declawed.....and I did miss her horribly...
and, I confess, I could have visited with my mother for 4 more days than I
did when I took my vacation, but, well, I just couldn't stand the idea of
being away from the furry gang for that long...a week and a half was all I
could stand! And that was really hard.
I know they are fine without me....well, Hannah misses me ALOT, but the
rest are happy with Marge, my roommate, who gives out cuddles, and FOOD,
just as good as I do...but I miss THEM too much when I am away. I even
have begun to hate business trips...you guessed it - I miss the furbags.
I am becoming one of those weird old ladies with all her cats....my father
warned me about this if I didn't get married!
Oh well, even if I am an over-protective "mom", at least I don't have to put
these guys through Harvard - it makes it seem better somehow to think that.

| Baby Biff went in for neutering a couple weeks ago and Honey had an appointment
the same afternoon for his yearly. I was to pick up Biff that same day. Due
to complications, Biffy had to stay overnight. While I was there, I insisted
on seeing my baby and sure enough, I cried all over him. I was waiting on
their doorstep the next morning to take him home. That night, I again cried
all over him.
My kitties must think I'm a mental mush case!!
No, Lisa, you're not alone!!!

| Oh Lisa.....a mom after my own heart. I use to think that I was nutso
because of the way I feel about my girls. When I got them declawed I
wouldn't even let the vet keep them overnight. I picked them each up,
made a recovery room in my bathroom, tons of binky's, shredded paper,
lot of toys...I couldn't imagine them waking up in a steel cage and me
not being there. My vet does house calls, so he was assured that I
would call him if there was any trouble during the night...and the next
day I brought each one in for a check up.
When they had to get spayed, I had to leave them overnight. I was a
basket case. Not only did I bring their favorite binky's, toys,
treats, cat food (Sheba)...I insisted on taking them back to the cage
and getting them all tucked in. All the dogs were barking, so I would
build a bungalow out of the binky so they could bury themselves in it
and feel more secure.
So Lisa...join the numbers of "Great Mom's & Dads" that go above and
beyond for their babies because their babies give so much back to them!

Lisa,
I guess we've all been through that. About a year ago my baby
(Jasmine) got really sick. It turned out that she had internal
parasites and pneumonia. She ran a Temp of 106.5 degrees. The
Doctors were really scared that she wasn't going to make it!! She
had to stay over for 3 days!! They were the longest days of my
life!! I went down there every day to visit her and I must have
called about 5 times a day or more!! It was so sad to see her little
paw shaved with an IV in it! I knew she was getting the best care
but I still cried!! Now a little over a year later she is as healthy
as ever!! She is definately a fighter!! So don't worry too much!

| This is the place to write about how you feel about kitties.
About your undying love, your total obsession, your overwhelming
emotion for those little loves of your life. I know how you feel, too.
I always hate leaving a kitty at the vet. I mean, just think how awful
it would feel for a human when they have to go to the hospital!
I hate even going on vacation! I have never been more than a few days,
and when I do, I call every day! Isn't that crazy?

Oh me too!! I was desolate when C.C. had to stay in the hospital with
her kidney problem. She was there for five days, and I even asked the
doc if I could visit her - he thought it would be too stressful for her
to see me - I thought I'd go nuts! And even though we have four other
cats, the house seemed so empty without her.
Luckily, she's another one who survived and is fat, happy and healthy
now :^}

| Thanks everyone for letting me know I'm not a nut. I picked Flirtaysha
up yesterday right after work. I got her home and she ran and hid
under the bed. When I lifted the dust ruffle to check on her she
hissed and moved away! I was mortified. She was extremely mad at me
and was having the biggest temper tamtrum I've ever seen. She did come
out to have a snack and when she saw me watching her she arched her
back, hissed at me and ran under the bed. I almost wanted to cry.
I went to bed all bummed out and about 1/2 and hour later this little
pussycat face was in mine and she was purring up a storm. She slept on
me all night long(the first time she ever got on my lap!). I guess she
figured that a warm bed was much better than a temper tantrum and cold
floor.

| I feel the same way about my three babies.. Goldie, Snookie and baby
Mittens... I had to leave them over the other night to be flee bathed..
they had to give them a tranquilizer to calm them down... It sure was
a L O N G night without them.... in the morning, I got up to feed them
breakfast, and remembered they weren't there... so off to work I went,
and called the vet a couple of times during the day to see how they
were doing.. When I picked them up that evening, I went to Popeye's
and picked up some chicken for dinner.. and guess who ate most of it??
Yes my babies.... so you are not alone... they are are big part of
your life....

| Well, I can't say that I called the vet's four times, but I went
nutz watching the clock until I could call ;-)
I'm sure the vets would much rather put up with folks like us than
with those who don't care about their cats or dogs.

| I'm one of those who calls 1 second after they say I can. If they
have to stay more than 24 hours, I go visit and spend about an hour
holding them and cuddling them until they go to sleep. Is that really
for them or for me???? Both, I think...
Welcome to the *I miss my baby* club.......

PS Aren't temper tantrums fun??

| No, you aren't being silly. I have felt the same way about every cat I
have ever had, and don't care how I look to outsiders. I love
my cats and they love me and I'm proud about that.
Three and me.

| Your not silly...but sometimes I think I am. Can you imagine
a person trying to capture a fly in the house...to release it
outside instead of just killing it. That's me....so you can
imagine how my cats are babied.
They need me and I need them and we could never live without each
other.
