    I must have some left over spooks in the house from Halloween!
    
    Last night about 2:00am I awoke to a "thunk thunk thunk", sounded like
    someone was beating wood against a metal pot.  Not a sight of rain so
    I ruled out the storm drain.  Two of the girls were snuggled in our
    bed, so that left Misty Rae as the suspect.  I went out into the living
    room and there she was stretched out on the couch looking as innocent
    as the angel she's not.
    
    Went back to bed at 3:30am "thunk thunk thunk", this time I started to
    get the willies, not knowing what she could be moving that made such a
    loud sound......went back out into the living room and she had changed
    her strategy and was now stretched out on the love seat.....giving me
    a look like "Mom, whatcha doing out of bed so much this time of the
    morning?".
    
    Hoping to catch the culprit tonight or do a thorough investigation of
    the house when I get home to try and solve this baffling mystery.
    
    Any other interesting stories of what your fur faces do for fun between
    the hours of midnight and five a.m.?

	Hannah and Nick did this to me once...banging noises in the middle of the night...couldn't catch them at it..Finally, looked in the seldom-used big pot cubbord and found their secret party spot. They had been sneaking around inside there, sitting in pots, knocking over things, etc. I reached in, pulled out a huge soup pot that seemed a little heavy, looked down into the pot and found Missy Hannah curled up inside taking a nap - she was 7 months old and a little lighter in those days. Later I caught Hannah opening the cabinet door and letting Nicky slip inside with her. It was one of her secret hiding spots and she was sharing it. Be suspicious - they usually like to find/create a secret hiding spot that they use to drive you to distraction thinking they have disappeared or gotten out.

	We have some of the same goings on at our house. Last night, at about 2:00am there was a horrendous cat fight in the living room. I went running out, flipped on all the lights, and found a room full of flying fur, and six very sleepy, placid cats, blinking up at me with expressions that said "have you any idea what time it is??? Turn off those lights and go back to bed!" Jo

	Could be she was just scratching, and her movement was causing the sound as her leg hit the couch or loveseat. My dog could get the whole house shaking by thumping the wall in the hallway as he scratched! :-) L-
