| Sandy,
Maybe it was "Kismet" that brought him to you! :-)

Sandy,
Perhaps he'd read the nasty stories in here about black kitties
being taken on Halloween and he wanted a safe place to stay!
Seriously, that's a really neat story! What a coincidence! I'm
surprised your kitties didn't get really upset. He must have an
owner if he's so friendly. If you live near Haverhill, MA let me know
and I'll put up signs for him!

| I felt so bad for the big guy...he was so hungry. I'm not sure
he was to pleased in sleeping in the cellar....but I refuse to
let him back out especially on Halloween Night.
My cats being upset...ha ha! I swear their the ones out there
recruiting all the strays to my house. All my cats, with the
exception of Barkley, love all other cats. I think it's because
they grew up with so many...we have 5, upstairs has 3 and our
neighbor has 11. Like I said...it's kitty city!
I do agree that he must have an owner because he is overly friendly,
and very welled groomed. He is a male that has not been fixed...
so I bet he was out strolling and went to far. If I can't find
the owner I will have him fixed...but I need to find him a new
home.
I live in Fitchburg...but thanks for the offer to post a note.

| I once had a cat who would bring sick strays to me to be taken care of.
Freebie was a great cat and loved everyone--I miss him a lot. Why
can't cats live as long as humans?

| My Black Beauty, a stray, brings other strays to me. He knows that I
have a blinking neon sign on my forhead. It blinks *SUCKER*... So far,
he has brought Patches(we took her in last December in a snowstorm) and
Grey (an abused, hit by car, terrified of humans, male).
I can't let a stray starve or suffer.
S*andi* (S stands for *S*ucker)
PS. I wouldn't have it any other way.................

| Update on the Halloween Kitty! He is so friendly and sweet. All
he wants to do it eat and be near humans. Instead of keeping him
in the cellar alone...we put him in my sisters extra bedroom upstairs.
Atleast he can hear noise and we can go pat him once in awhile.
The poor thing must have had a rough life.
We found out that this poor kitty was tossed out of a car in our
neighborhood. The "found Kitty Ad" should be in the paper tomorrow
night...but my guess is we will not find the owner. (Especially
if their the ones that tossed him out...those B&^%$#.)
If anyone is interested in the beautiful friendly pure black male...
please let me know. I will help pay for fixing and checkup. But
please don't worry...we could never throw this baby back out on
the streets. Can you tell we're already getting attached?

| Sandy,
as he arrived on halloween night, it might be very bad luck to give him
away....8^}
Let's see, what shall we name your Halloween cat?....Batman, perhaps?
Or maybe, spook? How about Warlock??

| Oh no....you assumed I was keeping him and you started to give me
names. Actually....that will probably be the case anyway...but
I'm going to convince my sister (who lives upstairs) that she only
has three and I have five...so it's her turn to take in the stray.
If we can't find the owner...maybe we'll have a Name the Halloween
Cat contest! I like Warlock!!

ps..my coworkers told me they were going to buy me a red light
because it's starting to look like a cat house.

4125.9 | Meet OAKLEY | WILLEE::MERRITT | | Tue Nov 06 1990 12:28 | 18 |
| Another stray saved...well the Halloween kitty has found a home
with my sister. Three reasons: We're all kind of spooked that
he showed up in the house on Halloween night (omen), She fell in
love with this baby, and we did not find the owners after putting
an Ad in the paper for three days.
My nephew had the pleasure of naming this new Kitty. His name
is OAKLEY. For you basketball fans...he is name after Charles
Oakley...as Barkley was named after Charles Barkley. And since
they look like identical twins...he thought that was appropriate.
Welcome Oakley to Kitty City may you have a happy and healthy life
with all of us.
