Conference misery::feline_v1

    I'll start. Of the cats that own me, four of them are solid black.
    There is the elegant Eirene and her twin brother Panther (who has made
    a carrer out of being cute). Nikolas is a handsome dude with silky long
    black fur (and a bushy tail that any red-blodded American female feline
    would swoon over). And then there is Kostas, who is one cute little
    devil, er, legal eagle.

    	Well we had one up until a few months ago....but we still
    	have the pics and memories of Dukie!!
    

    RE .02  Yes, I remember Dukie too.  I still have his picture on my wall
    at work.
    
    RE .00  Black Thunder is definitely black.  She is a gorgeous Black,
    with Russet undertones, long-haired, bushy-tailed, feisty, brat,
    DEVIL.  Her nickname is Instigator.  I wouldn't trade her for
    anything!!!!

    Nikki is my solid black cat, with a long, thick coat; short, stocky
    legs, and a stomach that drags on the floor when he walks!!  He looks
    like "Cousin It" with feet!
    
    Nikki is getting old, and graying in some areas.  He is still a very
    beautiful cat despite that.
    

    Well, my Midnight is all black, except for her whiskers, which used to
    be black, but have turned white as she has gotten older (she's 15).
    
    And not all black, but definately halloweeny - Penny is a Tortie with
    some white, and really fits the season...

	Our Maxwell is all black, except for a very few white chest hairs.
	He is also psycho, known to chase flashlight beams across the floor
	and then up the wall and to turn backflips trying to play with one
	of Cin Gerry's sparkly toys.  He fancies himself as heir-apparent to
	the head cat but doesn't really seem to have the determination and
	attention span necessary to be in charge of the rest of the "kids".

	And Stripe is our tuxedo cat, the glossiest shiniest parts of his coat
	are the black -- although he keeps his white parts nice and clean and
	they almost gleam in contrast to the black.  Very handsome, finally
	starting to fill out and growing a gorgeous thick coat (he was the
	Dudley Rd. stray that we adopted, still pretty timid and absolutely
	silent).

    Add another....the vet knows him as BUCKO, but that still doesn't quite
    capture his streaks of wildness....but he's only 7 months old and he's
    calmed down quite a bit.  A lap cat he is not.  A "you can hold me for
    a minute and I'll purr but now I gotta go, this is boring! is more his
    nature!  But he's clean, and sleek and wonderful.  And what do I call
    him.....Boobie (pleeze pronounce the o's like in BOOK!).  And, no,  I 
    don't ever plan on telling the vet his real name!

         Midnight is black with just a small patch of grey under her chin
    and a few white furs scattered on her legs.  She still has her "kitten
    stripes" (dark brown) but it looks like she will be completely black
    except for her chin when she grows up, as well as being medium- to
    long-furred.  She'll be 3�-4 months old on Halloween.

    Well, since Rumi doesn't get into Feline much anymore I'll list
    his Puma with 1/2 tail as one.
    
    Another is Isis aka "the enforcer".  She has a few white hairs on 
    her tummy and has developed a few more around her neck where the collar
    used to be.
    
    Other Halloween cats in our family are Mao - Torbie & white - and
    Bonnie Silver Patch tabby & white harlequin.  Both have the hallween
    colors, orange & black.
    

    Pandora is our Hallowe'en cat - all black, golden eyes, half Persian,
    able to appear and disappear at will.

    Zelda (how's that for a good Halloween name!) is a black with gold
    eyes.  Her black is sooooo shiney, and she disappears when she closes
    those beautiful eyes.....
    
    Bitser is a black tiger, very subtle tiger markings so at times she
    looks all black - graying as she approaches her 13th birthday.
    
    The others don't fit, unless tuxedo cats with long hair do (Bob). 
    actually, Madison looks like a little pumpkin, she is getting so fat!!!

    I have an all black "Witch's Kitty" (Hmmmm, what does that make me?)
    
    She is Her Regal Highness, the Princess Panther Jane Spingler.  She is
    small, she is black, she is quiet.  She is most regal, but has been
    known to dance in the hall when the mood strikes her.  She loves to
    entertain.

    Well, I have to add my three (yes three) black cats.  There's Muffy,
    who now at 13 is getting flecked with white here and there, but is
    still mostly black.  Then there is Oscar, who is a very soft black
    and at 12, still no white hairs (it's in the genes mom!).  And last,
    but by no means least is Pandora (another Pandora!) who is a *true*
    halloween cat!  She is a very silky blue-black, and since she will
    hiss at anyone new is great to open the door with on Halloween!  I
    never get the same trick or treater's two years in a row! (Hummm?!).
    With this crew, it's no wonder my poor Siamese feels a little over-
    whelmed!

    Hi, 
      Spooky is about three years old now. He is all black. Cute as a
    button. He only has a two little patches of white on his back legs.
    Otherwise he is all black. And every Halloween he waits for the Great
    Pumpkin to rise from the Pumpkin Patch. Tee Hee.
      Kuji is my new addition. He is about two years old. He is all black.
    He weighs 15.10 pounds. He is long haired. And he is a delightful 
    cuddly kitty. He is precious. This is his first Halloween with me.

    Out of the six who own me...two qualify for Halloween Kitties...
    
    KiKi, She is a petite all black short hair, with huge gold/orange eyes.
          A very quiet lady who "ghosts" around.
    
    Then...there's Phred...He a tuxedo(sp?) puss..very dignified and proper
	he keeps his white spats pristine.  Why does he qualify??? Because
    when he wants attention his meow is LOUD and makes all my hair stand on
    end..he knows I'll do anything not to hear that more than once. (sounds
    like a Banshee!!!!)
    
    I'll introduce myself and the rest of the kids in the intro note.
    Nice to be a part of this file, kitties and their people are the BEST!!

    I have two black babies - Big Bad Ben who wakes me up every morning
    tapping me on the nose, and his sister Becky, both who keep bringing
    frogs into the house and bedroom as presents!  My husband and I take it
    in turns to rush out to the pond to put them back in!  They did have a
    little kitty sister called Amy who was also black, but she died last
    year.  A few months before that I had a lovely baby called Katy - she
    also died.  I have fond memories of a black cat I had 'in my youth'
    called Belinda.  So as you see, I am very partial to black cats.  (I
    also have a brown Burmese - Holly and two tabbys, short haired -
    Blanche and long haired - Barney.

    And I have Mr Barkley who is all black with the exception of a white
    locket on his chest.  This big guy weighs 13 pounds but is pure
    muscle.  He joined us in April (was a stray) so this is our first
    Halloween with us.  He is such a sweetie..  
    
    For Halloween he decided to put on a pair of Basketball shorts and
    sneakers and go as Charles Barkley who he was named after.

    Now that my kitten is 5 months old, she appears to be all black with
    yellow eyes. Her name is Rosina (Rosie for short) after my grandmother.

    2 black kitties 4 months old.
    
    I've mentioned them before.  Snuzzy is a fluffy shorthaired kitty with
    no white.  Her sister, Double (double pawed) is quite petite, with
    short silky black fur.  Double has about 10 white hairs on her throat. 
    But really, she is a Halloween kitty.  She always arches up and puffs
    out her tail when Snuzzy surprises her-- a definite Halloween kitty
    pose.  Snuzzy never does that pose.  So I guess Snuzzy isn't a real
    Halloween kitty-- never puffs up her tail even.,

    Hunter is a jet black shorthaired kitten with a few scarce white hairs
    on his chest.  In the sunlight, his coat has russet undertones.  He's
    8 months old and loves to be outdoors.  He often chooses the bathroom
    sink as a place to take a nap!
    
    

    Well, I couldn't let this one go by without a response.  Not only do I
    have a black cat but she has the witch's temperament.  Her name is
    Ophelia...we also have a grey and white cat named Hamlet...and she is
    about the nastiest cat I have ever come in contact with...and I love
    her.

    I vote for T.C (original ;-)), my mum's cat.  Although he is not
    with us anymore he was a great cat.
    
    He was pure black and was a tiny little stray when we got him 6.5
    years ago.  There was a centre spread about him in our local paper
    about how he had adopted the local pub owners and they needed to
    find him a home - we came to the rescue.
    
    He was a fun cat, and all the years we had him he loved to go in
    the car, it didn't matter where you went he would jump in before
    you and sit looking out the front windscreen (even the neighbours
    had him as a passenger).
     
    His other trick was to go out to the Ice Cream van when it came
    and jump up onto the counter, and the man used to give him a sweet
    or even open up a bag of crisps for him.
    
    His final adventure came at the beginning of this year when he started
    following my sister round to the school, can you imagine the
    embarrasment she went through having to walk the cat back round
    home.  One day though he beat her to it, and he was actually sitting
    in her history class lying across the radiator waiting for her.
     What a cat, the teachers and headmaster thought it was great and
    gave T.C a second home.
             
    He is definitely missed.

    P.s. I forgot to mention about how he used to walk the 1/2 mile
    or so up to my Grandparents house for a visit, pet and something
    to eat then he would come home again. :-)

well, Samson qualifies....if you overlook the 16 white hairs on his lower
belly....he NEVER shows them to anyone but family, so we all consider Sam
the "perfect" black cat.
