I took Ditto to the vet today for his annual checkup (poor guy, he 
thought it was an extended punishment for tearing down chunks of
wallpaper in the guest room).  The vet said that someone brought in
a litter of 5 3-week-old kittens to be euthanized because the mother
had disappeared.  The vet said she could not bring herself to do it
in this case, so she is bottle feeding them and will be putting them
up for adoption, probably in about a month or so.

The vital statistics are:

  2 orange (probably male)
  2 calico (undoubtedly female)
  1 gray (unknown gender)

Obviously they are getting the best possible care and will come free with
all the appropriate shots for their age.

I've changed jobs and am too busy to write in these days, but Ditto
is now a sleek, elegant apparent Russian Blue (except for those mitten-paws
that betray his lowly origins) and Simba, whom I found through this file,
is a monster 7-month-old, weighing in at 12 pounds of golden mackerel 
trouble.  Good thing he has such a sweet personality.  He was the one
who invented the wallpaper game.  Yeuch.
